Newbie ladies canceling last minute is common now, too. In NYC, I would say I get about one cancellation in every three appointments. A lady cancelled today. Made and confirmed the appointment yesterday. Then I booked the hotel. She cancels today, four hours before the appointment, no explanation, just "I can't do it." Now I am stuck with the hotel. It happens all of the time, and on TER there is no way to track it. One cannot even post a "no show" review.
Just got a cancellation 5 minutes before the date. I got a hotel just for this date, paid crazy $ because it's in Manhattan midtown east, and the guy said "I'm so sorry, can't come in". 5 minutes before the date?!!! Is this a common practice for newbies? Or some men just play that they are new and don't have any references, just because they have been doing this all this time and have bad reputation. Honestly, I want to implement the policy that I'm not newbies friendly, because of cases like that. Anyone had similar issues?
I am sorry to hear that but the same happend to me too. I changes as well and i am not anymore newbie friendly and if a newbie wanna meet me i let them book the hotel just so i am on the safe side..
HI there! I strongly recommend that you make verifiable references a mandatory part of screening - and that you check those references every time. It seems crazy not to. Another option (that I haven't tried) is to get a booker who handles screening for you. Never mind the lost income - safety first!! xo
I don't know if I've seen any providers do this, but would a deposit for guys without any references be an option.
I do require deposits for newbies. That tends to keep them well behaved. It sucks that you went through this. Make sure you document it so other girls don't have to deal with him.

I typically only do outcall anymore for newer or veteran gentlemen, unless I'm super comfortable and trust him enough to invite him to my own place (only happened twice since I've been here and he has to travel to me). But it's a lot more comfortable, no hotel stay or games and just easier overall. Stay outcall until you are certain with newer men would be my advice. Sorry this happened to you, chin up ![]()
Newbie or veteran, a lot of dudes have no respect for escorts. If one of his clients flaked, he would send an invoice without a second thought. Escorts can't do that, so a deposit is necessary.

You cannot post a review, but you can post it on the discussion board or in the clients only forum.
I've begun implementing a policy where I collect a small deposit, in order to recoup the cost of the hotel if the client does not show up. However, even this strategy isn't foolproof because some perfectly well-meaning guys are simply unwilling to put down a deposit for one reason or another, mostly due to discretion concerns. Maybe they don't want Pink Panties Consulting Inc showing up on their credit card statement.
I think the reason a lot of guys (usually non-hobbyists) do the sort of thing you describe is because they view us as nothing but a joke. They do not care about costs of business (e.g. your hotel room midtown east, etc), or the effort it takes (e.g. booking it) and whatever else may go into making the date happen.
Most people practice what they've been taught by society. So can you really blame them?
Good news is that this sort of thing happens rarely. The only thing you are able to do is blacklist, and enjoy the hotel room all by yourself.
trust me its never worth it. If you don't have multiple appts, have the guy pay a deposit equal to the hotel room cost. and especially when its a newbie with no references, it doesn't make sense to get a hotel just for him without some sort of guarantee he will show. especially ny guys who think they're super important and cancel whenever.
Unfortunately, it happens from time to time. It’s not just newbies, sometimes it is also clients who have established presence.
For the first time ever a couple weeks ago, I had a “no show” for a client and also a last minute cancel after I had also shelled out money for a hotel room. Both of them had references and established presence.
If you have not already, you should blacklist the client noting the behavior - what many people don’t realize is that a person who has a pattern of doing no shows or last minute cancels is a danger. It’s about more than the financial loss, it’s a safety issue ESPECIALLY if you had already disclosed your incall location.
