Ruth Chris has great steaks, but is very busy.

My favorite French place closed.  Any suggestions?

If you are missing Laheire's, it closed about three years ago after 91 years.  Times and tastes change.

I can recommend the Blue Point Grill on Nassau Street for good, plainly cooked seafood.  It is a casual dining place with a nice mixture of older folks, younger couples and a few students.  A particular treat is a very nice selection of those luscious, succulent natural aphrodisiacs, oysters on the half shell.  Yum yum, slurp, slurp.

Winberies on Palmer Square has good pub grub and traditional American fare.  It is also casual and can be very, very noisy; not the place to share quiet, intimate thoughts, but even if you shouted them no one would hear them through the din.

I wish I knew of some serious dining places, but I rarely go to Tiger Town except for few sporting (but not with sporting ladies) events.

Bon appetit!
