Hi, did anyone else get a message from yahoo saying their account would be terminated if they didn't  verify the account by providing name, address, d.o.b etc? I don't want to lose my account, but this seemed weird to me ?

Those types of email are generally phishing. If you feel it is really from yahoo then do not reply directly to any information in the email. Sign into your yahoo account and go to their support links.

None of that information is required to open an account--most likely a hoax or identity theft.

The only I got was when I tried to view a "profile" on Yahoo and it wanted info because they were updating their formats, etc. That was a few weeks ago though.

You have a PM :-)

I've been fussing over Yahoo's PITA changes but have not gotten any such notices.  I use Yahoo Classic because I just am an ornary cuss.  I just peeked & didn't use my full correct name.

More than likely this is a phishing scam...
