Beginning today and running through February 11th, Melissa will be hosting a Gun Safety Training Class.

Beginners and Advanced Gun handlers alike will gain definite benefits from participation in this course. You will learn the fundamental rules of safe gun handling.  Melissa will take the participant, one on one through each of the following safety rules:

1. Keeping your gun pointed in a safe direction.
2. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
3. Keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

Note: If you come to class with your gun already loaded, Melissa will safely unload the contents immediately upon arrival.

Other important information.
1. Knowing your target. (If you do not know what your target is, Melissa will point it out to you).
2. Knowing how to use your gun safely. Prematurely firing of your gun is prohibited.  You may be assisted in reloading should this occur.

Face it, handling your gun is serious business.  Don’t bring your gun to just anyone.  Bring it to someone that will appreciate it as much as Melissa will.

Upon Completion, you will have a firm idea of the proper use, placement and and storage procedures.  Special attention will be addressed on the care and oiling of the barrel.

Melissa will satisfy you fully as a gun owner.  You will leave this course with your gun completely unloaded, packed away and ready for travel.

You will have a full appreciation of the reasons you carry your gun, and so will Melissa....

Nice looking little revolver you have there, 38?

Bill's is my place!  I shoot once a week and not a bad shot to boot.  My S&W 38 Special & My XD9 are good friends.  I would love to let you fill my Clip!  You say when & I am in!

Already trained from 9mm Glock to 50 cal machine gun, but can always use a refresher course with new perspectives.

I do remember this much:  (27 seconds)

Not to mention overkill. Maybe more like an M16 (on a good day, anyway).

I am not a huge fan of the really big guns.  I have an excessively tight holster and I feel the resistance on the insertion and the draw.

I have learned that light lubrication on the inside of the holster or on the barrel will allow the draw to be slightly more passive.   Tightness of a new holster is not uncommon and is much preferred over the alternative.

Practicing the draw several times is highly recommended!

James Bond - Goldfinger

Bond: “Who are you?”
Pussy: “My name is Pussy Galore.”

The introduction of Pussy Galore was a greatly talked about event, maybe in outstate MN anyway. We always were behind the TC by a half a generation anyway.

Bring me your Glock I will be happy more than happy to put you through the safety course.  Just be prepared for the consequences should you bring it loaded to class.

The only problem I see is that you violated one of your own rules:  2. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. Unless of course you had a target on the floor!

That rule has always been a difficult one for me to follow.  Once I get my hands on a trigger, I just can't help myself...
