my last post took 6 minutes to appear. I assume that 'immediate' posting unambiguously means 'immediate'!?

If you're unmoderated your post appears immediately?  Otherwise it takes a few minutes to appear?  And why does anyone care?

And you can lose a certain something when it takes 10 or more minutes to post something and get a response.  Plus, I have seen it take much longer than that at times.  No, it's not the worst thing in the world by far but it is annoying when you have been used to your posts going through right away.

...that's why so many active board participants are doing these moderation checks. Vorlon said it nicely that these threads can be like a conversation and we'd prefer to not have long pauses between comments. If that's not your thing, fine. I think most of us prefer the board the way it was before mass moderation; warts and all.

And there was nothing like responding to a post, only to have it take 10-15 minutes to post.  In the mean time, others have posted and taken the conversation into a different direction.  I felt lost.  That and I'm mid 50s, bull headed, and I don't like my thoughts being "approved" by anyone.

Yes, I think we should be given the benefit of the doubt and have to violate the standards before being moderated, which is more like it used to be.

OK...seriously....almost an entire page of wasted bandwidth of people checking to see if their messages are posted RIGHT NOW.  It's a freaking message board!!!  You don't have 'conversations' on message boards!  And it's mildly pathetic if you do!  Am I the only one who sees the humor in this?

But clearly there are a good number who see it differently.
