Hi, and I'm sorry in advance for my ignorance.

I've seen over and over here that girls on BP are the "you get what you pay for" type, implying they are lower price, lower quality.

On the other hand, I have seen some providers' P411 profiles have links to their ads on BP, and my understanding is that the girls here and on p411 are typically higher quality and can often be higher priced as well.

Also, I don't see prices on the few BP ads I've seen, so how can anyone know how much the charges are without contacting each provider?

Am I missing something?

I'm not looking for a debate or any personal attacks to anyone on BP or their clients. I really just want to understand more.

Entrance:  Your post merits responses from providers who started on "backpage" and eventually found their way to other stations in this industry. How did they make their transition from "backpage" to a (presumably) more respected status?

Story-Time:  A retired Minneapolis provider told me that she "discovered" another retired provider listing on "backpage." Supposedly, the first provider liked the other woman and groomed her for the big-time. In the alternative, I wouldn't doubt that many of today's established providers were groomed (i.e., informed) of better prospects by their gentlemen clients who search for providers in both "backpage" and Preferred411 listings.

Pricing:  Prices may be negotiable with "backpage" providers. Selling your services for less than you feel you are worth might get old and tiring after awhile. If a provider can polish her presentation a little bit in order to find a group of clients (e.g., Preferred411) willing to pay list price, why wouldn't she seek out the better financial situation?

Result:  Is the provider who began her career on "backpage" -- and currently lists on Preferred411 -- fundamentally different (i.e., a more accomplished lover) after making the transition?

There is nothing wrong with BP.  Most of the girls that post here still often do post on BP.  

Sure, is it more then a gamble then say 411 or seeing a reviewed provider?  Yes.  But, who do you think vouches for them or gives them that first review?  Someone took a gamble on them so that you as the hobbyist looking for the "well reviewed provider" could put your little security blanket on.  

There's a lot of talk about the Bloomington Asians and how reliable they are.  With few exceptions, almost always they post exclusively on BP.  

Somehow in four years I've been able to stay out of jail and never get robbed using pretty much BP.  Have I had some lackluster experiences, yes.  Would I have missed out on some of the greatest experiences as a hobbyist had I stuck to "well reviewed providers", absolutely.

First I want to say I used to advertise on BP so this isn't a stab at all the ads. I understand you guys have a lot to filter through to find the gems.  Girls you should look at your ads and use this guideline ... Mine was pretty funny.  Some BP ladies are just that LADIES ... Many are not.

And I would say that on average you are more likely to run into providers using fake pics or running some sort of scam on BP plus it does seem to be the place LE loves to run their ads when setting up a sting.

But there are also a lot of legitimate providers who advertise on BP.  Like anyplace else, you need to check things out and not just call based on a pretty picture; that is asking for trouble.

As far as ads with no rates then yes you are put in the position of asking discreetly or she will volunteer the information (assuming she does not have reviews).

I a frequent critic of BP and will continue to be so.

For hobbyists to select a provider based solely upon is simply stupid.

Virtually any police sting on hobbyist's you read about is centered on listings on BP.  If you want to respond to a BP ad without other verification, you are asking to be busted.

Good apples and bad apples are found on both in regards to providers AND hobbyists ... BP just has more bad apples ... Last minute appt so little to no screening and verifying going on ... Risky place for both ... Lots of fake/misleading ads ... LE primary source for busts ... Bad rep overall.  

However several well reviewed providers started there and some still advertise there ... Some great hobbyists can be found as well ... Just know that even though you may find diamonds in the rough on BP, there could be a price to pay ... For me it's just not worth the risk anymore.

There was a day (really not long ago, either) when you were essentially begging for a real review and a validation on a verification site.  You got it and were able to get away from BP, great.  But, someone had to be willing to take a chance for you to get there.

This isn't a chicken and egg scenario here.  A provider only becomes a reviewed and verified provider by someone making it happen.

You will never eliminate the risk in what we do.. Even if this were made legal tomorrow, there would still be the potential for the upsell, bait and switch, as well as a trick roll.  All we can do is mitigate risk.  In the day of the internet it's just as easy for us to out a bogus pic, traveling Bonnie & Clyde crews as it is for them to post.

And to the other side Bri.. Yes indeed, as a provider you never know who's going to dial that # either.

Bp, Eros, Ter, any site, there is always a chance being taken.
I have posted on Bp for many years and still stick to my guns.
I have actually met some pretty amazing friends from Bp.
you have to pick and choose from every website and be careful doing it.

I see no difference, what so ever in any of the sites.

There is nothing wrong with BP.  It's a tool you need to learn how to use and know what to expect from. Nearly every hobbyist in MN looks at it and uses it to different degrees.  Where else can you look and find as many new ads every week or day.  

I've used Eros a small handful of times and been burned at least twice.  TER girls, I'm sure are great, but require more screening and more money.  Many can only be contacted by email which would rarely work for me.  I'm also afraid that if I started seeing TER girls, I would turn into a White Knight, although there's nothing wrong with that  I prefer being a troll.  

It's very hard to beat the Bloomington Asian girls although I must admit to wanting a blond or redhead every once in a while.   Maybe I could bring some wigs with.

The anxiety of BP...is just not worth it to me...I have been burned TOO many times as a newbie...
I look at allot of hobbyists reviews that TOFTT...bless their souls...that is just not me at this point in my life...

Do I pay more???  Yes and No...yes being at a "potential" higher hour donation...BUT no if I look at what I spent "on sketchy bad experiences"...just my $.02...

Juicy details, give me the opportunity to seek out what I am looking for....(see Moniker)...with some providers, they offer the type of session I am looking for from a NON-FS hobbyist...(see Moniker)...so I have a hit list...of mouths, I mean providers I want to see...Being whitelisted has helped me in seeing other providers...

Does this make me a White-Knight???  Don't know or care...I tend not to engage on "attacking the Windmills" on an internet chat room of a very SUBJECTIVE hobby...not worth MY time or energy, but hey...that's me...

Yes as I have stated before many times, I started on Backpage however I found TER through a BP guy who reviewed me and I have been eternally grateful ever since ... Because of the reasons I have stated all along. I read up on TER and with the advice from some well known providers and many TER hobbyist (you being the 2nd one) who saw me and give me other reviews, I now no longer need to resort to using BP and I am much,much safer and smarter.  That being said ... I NEVER begged nor have I changed my story. BP is much more dangerous! There are plenty of great providers and hobbyists to be found on BP but 100 times more here.

Using your logic, BP + lackluster first review, there shouldn't have been a 2nd one.  I actually had to take a bigger leap of faith seeing what I had.  At least when you TOFTT you have NO expectations.

I'm not claiming you owe favors or anything.  I'm just saying that there are other women who are were you once were.  I see a provider that is listed and verified here slamming BP as just businesspeople trying to protect their turf

The only thing I could think of was to post on the board in hopes of getting his attention which I did. When I think of providers begging for reviews I think of those who send unsolicited emails and ask for appointments or straight up offer half off for a good review and shills. I do none of that!! If you want to consider posting something on the board in hopes of trying to reach someone so I could try to "right a wrong" as begging then that is fine with me. But you cannot say that I solicited you and begged you and offered you half off ... You contacted me and made an appt then offered to write me a review and such ... I then whitelisted you because you were helpful to me in explaining a bit more of this side of the hobby and you were a gentleman.  Again I am grateful someone TOFTT for me however I DO NOT BEG!

Not sure why you decided you needed to "attack" me when all I said was there are good and bad in both but BP is not as safe. This is all I will say to you about this ... Not going to argue about this anymore.

My take on the whole thing is that when things go wrong with BP it's due to 100% user error.
I can put rates on my ads in bold print & a website link through the entire thing and they'll still ask how much and not comprehend a word I've said so they can find where to look for my info.
Majority of my visitors don't use this site because they  don't trust it anymore .

I have been debating advertising or keeping things more UTR and I think I feel safer staying UTR. I've been in contact with two hobbyists who were going to (separately) help initiate me into the hobby, but one's ATF returned and he's exclusive with her for the summer ... the other is active here and this week was going to be the week for my first time, but his work hours have been crazy so I'm waiting.

If I do advertise, I'm thinking I'll stay away from BP until I feel more comfortable screening and such. I built a website but I haven't uploaded images yet. I'm moving very slowly. It's scary taking the next step!

The truth is that none of us want to pay because we can't afford the more expensive girls on TER. This is why there is a silent strike forcing you ladies to lower your rates to compete with BP girls. There are TER guys who are very generous, however. I've had luck with TER guys, whether they are simply lurkers or avid reviewers. This guy may not be in the majority when he says he's not going to see certain women until they lower their rates.

Loud minority when it comes to guys playing this game. There are guys who have expensive taste, which means he needs a woman with expensive taste. And he will pay for it because he understands quality.

I tried to find a username that worked for me. I don't remember how I settled on this one instead of others I liked, but whatever I did for a search had me under the impression this was fairly unique, or unique enough for it to work for me.

I can see how it can get confusing for linking to reviews, and reviews getting to the right person.

That's the thing with Backpage I don't like, lots of people with same names on there and those that don't know how to use a search function to find the person in the ad they're looking at as opposed to here where a link is posted along with your handle whenever posting so it's easy to find .

I agree 100%. There are plenty of non-TER based providers that will give you a good time for a fair price.  The lovely women of TER can get a bit caught up in the hype believing they have to "brand" themselves and "grow their business".  Wasted effort on cultivating an airbrushed Aldo image if you ask me. Granted there's a lot of shit to wade through on BP. I'd rather do my research and find the right gem for me like I've been doing since before the Internet.  I won't pay a premium for a provider to not post on BP. What the fuck do I care?  In many ways TER has outlived it's usefulness. Less honest reviews and more opportunity for providers and clients with an agenda to grasp for control. If it weren't for new girls we'd all be fucking the same 3 grandmas in a few short years.
