Yet another reason to use a hobby phone

So someone calls up a provider on BP.  It's a sting.  Nothing takes place.  The sting provider turns over this information to this website, and the number is posted.  Then the website's software researches the phone number and posts the guy's name and photo - sometimes a photo with his SO or his baby - and this is all done in the name of increasing public awareness of "people who solicit prostitutes."

Wow....Somebody should sue their ass off and shut them down.

great reason to only use a hobby phone. I've had one for yrs but once in awhile if I'm out of minutes I use my own personal cell, maybe a handful of times in 10 yrs, but never again.
It could end up being a huge lawsuit maybe, with so many people on family plans it would be easy to pin it on the wrong person.

why do people use it at all?  It's riddled with problems.  Really, I don't get it ... why would any client or provider go there when it is infested with stories like these?

There are people out there who do not wish us well.  No need to make it easy for them to take advantage of us.

Just calling a number because you see a picture of a hot chick on BP is asking for trouble but if you do your research there are good providers to be found there as well.

Vorlon states it well.  BP is a minefield out there. It's "Where the Wild Things Are", full of hazards and traps.  But if one trods carefully and is always mindful of controlled risks, it is full of wonderful treasures as well.

Agreed & this particular shaming site is like the other one with escorts listed on it.
Scam all the way!
Being someone that advertises on bp, I'm optimistic that gents do their homework before taking the plunge.

Yes you are good providers on BP and there are some or many... but how many?  Is it half if that?  1/3rd?  1/8th?  And greater risk.  There is some bad company that is surrounding the good few.   Why is it you feel comfortable there?

....I rarely use BP anymore just because quality of those responding are just as bad as the majority who use it.
I think the ratio of good in the bad is about 1 in 4 ..... 1 in 4 being a good provider is about the same ratio of good clientele (imo).

I developed a system over the years to weed out most of the undesirable people & some of my friends don't save my info so, it helps them find me.
The way I see it, Why fix something that isn't broken?

I must, have, and always will echo élan's thoughts. In addition to the unsavory, seedy, dangerous reputation BP has it sure seems like a LOT of work=TIME. Tineye? Google image search? Any info on "so and so" Does anyone have 411 on "what's her name" etc etc etc.

Fakes, scams, rip-offs, bait & switch, even violent related encounters. Why, guys? Why all the work? Is this part of the thrill? I can understand the thrill part; I do not understand how anyone has the surplus of time it takes to do all this "research" though. With a resource like TER at your fingertips why bother?? I listed on BP and it was the LONGEST 3 days of my life. Not really, but you get my point. I could not WAIT to get my ad off of that site because I did not want my name to be associated with it.

You may be asking yourself, why did you list there, Astrid? The answer is very simple. I didn't know any better. Let me clarify- I did not know of any other inexpensive sites for exposure. I could have listed on Eros but it is very costly. I listed there because it was cheap, (you get what you pay for) then as luck would have it, a well-known hobbyist TOFTT after drilling me (via email first) and reviewed me. POOF! I don't think I even left much of a vapor trail, I was OUT of there!

I immediately applied for a membership on preferred411 and after they verified me, life was good. I've asked clients time & time again why they think even the few (IMO- I cannot agree that there are "plenty") well-reviewed ladies list there and no one seems to know...my only thought is exposure, as in numbers, volume of viewers.

Again, élan shares the same view of BP as I do. Guys, I don't get it. Had I known better, I'd have done it differently. Hindsight is 20/20, sure. But for the ladies who have good reviews: what keeps you there? There is a handful of lovely diamonds scattered amongst the dangerous and undesirable. I am sincerely fascinated as to why those diamonds are there.

There are too many bad stories posted here on the MN board alone to begin to count...I think we all know what the common denominator is. And yet, there are BP defenders. It's perplexing to me.

have had the privilege of speaking with some providers personally and being new to this community I am so glad that I have had this chance from the beginning and since.

Some providers have encountered the creeps and the violent sort and even rapists.  Where would I go if I were a creep, rapist or LE?  Thank you to the providers that have given me their protective care and forewarning.  Gents too, for that matter.  You've advised and shared your knowledge and perspective from another angle.

While not fullproof, so far the TER and 411 community have been filled with gentlemen and not one single creep has walked through my door. Not a single regret, not a single "ewe".  Every man comes with a recommendation from a savvy provider and this puts me at ease already from the get go.

I don't want to expose myself to a place where there is more danger, less screening, more creeps.  I've been warned by fair women providers what they've learned in avoiding "ick" and worse all the way up to boundaries being breached in scarring ways.  I am honored, saddened and alerted by this open sharing.

Once I know things are safe and respectful then it might follow that things can get raunchy and edgy... but not the risk of the other way around.  This puss exclusively wants fun as I believe every puss deserves that choice as an inherent right... and am so grateful I can come to the very edge of new explorations I could only have with the nod of whitelists, OK's, referrals of fair women vouching for the man to be an asset in this realm of sexy.

I do understand that BP can be handled with additional screening and sorting through dangers and finding the gems and wish the women who do not screen only good things.  I understand there are providers who don't screen much at all and they've been alright so far  (some of them have parlors or incalls with other ladies their present and have "safety in numbers" that have brought them extra comfort and I can see this approach as being a buffer).  I just hope that no one is tempting any bad fate by being lax in screening.  May we all be safe and careful.

Thank you TER!

90% of what goes awry on BP is 100% user error.
Can't really blame a guy for being weak due to a few hot pics though.

While I agree about backpage, and I really don't use it.  I do find TER is something of an "echo chamber".  It's the same people over and over again to a great extent.  Many of us like "fresh faces", and TER is far enough off the beaten path that as you said it "they don't know any better".

It's too bad there isn't a "courtesan school" out there, to teach prospective providers the ropes.

There are getting started forums out on the interwebs it's just finding them that can be a challenge.
For me I grew up around the industry so it came naturally but for the more complicated things  I turned to forums & other ladies. Thank goodness for them.
