Just a warning, I went to Eros the other day and wound up with an alert for a Trojan Horse.  I didn't think the two were related until I went back and got a warning that Eros is listed as an attack site.

I doubt that it is intentional by the site owners, someone may have just found a way to add malicious content.  Anyone know any specifics?

I got the same warning when trying to visit Eros. When I clicked out and went back later, the warning had disappeared. Very strange.

I clicked on "whats new" and the attack happened.  Tried again Mon. AM and no attack.

Yeah I just went to the Eros main page and got that same bogus virus alert.

ha!

My AVG used to stop the problem.

But now a new webpage and warning alert pops up that says I now have a virus and need a virus scan from Securedvirusscanner dot com.

I am thinking they are the ones exploiting the Eros site.

They get something on a computer or a site and then pop up ads trying to get people to buy a product to take care of the problem they caused.  Never click on those; it will only make it worse.

Thank you for your feedback concerning a virus warning appearing while browsing our sites.  As always, we continue to take the steps necessary to help ensure that our sites are secure and safe. So far, our initial investigation shows that our sites appear to continue to be safe to browse.

The immediate steps we have taken include:

1. We’ve conducted a comprehensive security assessment of our sites—the results of which show no evidence that our sites have been breached.
2. We’ve had our hosting company conduct a comprehensive security assessment of our servers—the results of which show no evidence that our servers have been breached.
3. We’ve run several vulnerability scans against our sites—the results of which show that our sites appear to be secure.
4. We’ve had an outside company run several vulnerability scans against our sites—the results of which show that our sites appear to be secure.
5. The closest we have come to a logical explanation is a new worm on the Web called “The April Fools Worm-conflickr.c.”  See CNN article at:

Please understand that despite our strong belief that this issue is independent of our sites themselves, we are continuing to take a close look at our sites in an effort to identify the cause of this issue.
