Hey, Belinda, six weeks post. How are you doing?

My point was that a TER Profile is unlike P411 or her website because a woman can't log on, change the number, click save and it's done. She has to ask TER to change it and I've heard a lot of different reports about how quickly TER responds. Also, the next guy who posts a review could also submit a problem report to have the number changed. How long before she would actually notice? I agree that a smart provider will work to keep her TER Profile accurate, but I don't think it is fair to hold her responsible for it the way I do when her website or P411 Profile says something.

I have notice a large discrepancy in some providers prices from TER, P411 and their personal website. I definitely don't want to discuss rates during pre screening so which one would you assume is the most accurate? Also what do you do if they don't the rate for the time frame you are looking for. For example they might have 1 hr $350 and 1.5 hr $500 and if you were looking for a 2 hr the math doesn't really work evenly. Maybe it means they don't offer the 2 hr time frame? Any thoughts on how to handle it?

Personal website should be most up to date ... As for 2 hrs rate just double hr rate and you can't go wrong. Many of us give a slight discount for multiple hours so my guess would be that a provider who is 350 an hour may be 650 for 2 hours.

ask.   I've never been chastised for asking.  If you don't, you create a grey area.  An area that creates bad feelings.  I like black and white.

I know you said you don't want to ask about rates during pre-screening, but, what choice do you have if there are inconsistencies? It's better than asking at the time of the date.  I think some have been brainwashed into thinking it is a taboo subject.

I've never been hung up on for asking a simple question about rates.  Actually the only place I hear  "never negotiate/question rates" bull is right here on TER!  I do not dicker over fees, but I have certainly asked about prices and specials, especially if there is any confusion.  I have also been offered a lower rate on different occasions without prompting the discussion.

So my advice and you certainly don't have to take it, is ask the question.  I'm sure you know how to do that in a manner that you won't be insulting anyone.  If the provider is insulted then move on unless you have no balls. But then you wouldn't be asking in the first place would you? :)

ABSOLUTELY! Her rates are not a taboo subject, simply mention that the time you are interested in is not listed and ask.
I would not try to negotiate though, unless she has a problem with math and quotes you a goofy number.

The provider is in control of her site and the rates posted on it.  TER is a nice guideline.  I also round up.  Consider it a tip or covering some lag in the online data and the current rate.  This is not Kmart.  No price check going on.

.... that rates are what they are and please don't ask to negotiate them, then we need to respect that.

I had a date with a girl in Boston and she quoted me her BP rate when she called me back. When I told her I found her on P411 she laughed as her rate on there is higher. I have booked a few dates with girls that have different rates on different sites. I have found that the rate on many personal websites is the highest.

As a rule of thumb, I note which website I am booking from when I set up the date.  I then pay the rate listed on that site. I have never had a problem with this. If you are really unsure, take extra $$ and talk about it when you meet the girl. I did this recently and we covered the fee at the end of the session and the rate I had in mind was higher than what she charged. We both left happy.

Not on you or your comment but on the girl who charges more to p411 clients.  She charges based on what she thinks she can get depending on where you saw her? That's just crap. Does she also charge differently based on age or race?  I can see giving a discount to someone on p411 who is much easier to verify ... Not the other way around.

I have a few times ran a special on ter or bp but the guy has to tell me he saw the discount to get it. Not the same thing as what she did.  Glad you had a good time and both of you were happy in the end but IMO it's bad business.

Just wondering if she listed a p411 discount at some point and upped her rate to cover the discount. Gina does not like that.

There are all sorts of people in this business, including some with less than great business skills.

Most of the ladies on TER know that Google will display most of their ads when a phone # or email is searched, but not everyone is that tech savvy.

I sell a service for a living too and have a variety of rates for my clients, long term vs short term, trusted vs new, fun vs PIA, etc. I also have run specials when work was slow a few years back, I never begrudge anyone for charging less on a slow day like Monday and more on Friday afternoon or Saturday night. Supply and demand are always in play, the market will ultimately decided what you can charge.

I agree it's right on the front page that you aren't to do that .

Unlike some, I do consider it impolite and inappropriate (and unsafe) to start talking money with a provider I have never met, so if I find different numbers in TER, P411 and her web site, my approach is as follows.

The number in her TER Profile is maybe a guideline, but nothing more. The woman can't change that rate at will. She can ask to have it changed, but that'll happen if and when it happens. Some women don't even look at TER so the number could be as old as her first review. If the low number is in her TER Profile I ignore it.

As between P411, a recent ad in TER, and a personal website, I consider the lowest rate to be fair game. When contacting her, I mention the place where I saw the lowest rate. I don't mention the number, obviously, but I expect her to know what is in her postings and if she doesn't like that rate it is up to her to say so. The same would be true of Eros, or Date-check or other ad sites.

One time I sent a P411 request which was accepted. The next day I noticed she had increased the P411 rate to the rate on her web site, but she didn't say anything to me about it. I brought the rate in place when I sent my request. I mentioned it at the end of our date so she would not think I was intentionally shorting her, or had brought the wrong amount by mistake. She didn't complain or seem surprised. If she had I would not have been sympathetic. The next time I saw her I brought the new rate.

Caveats. If an ad has a date on it and is more than a couple weeks old, I don't rely on it. If a rate is stated to be a special offer for a limited time, I won't even mention it once the time has passed. And, I don't rely on typos. If she dropped a zero by mistake, or if the discrepancy is just unrealistically large, I point it out to her.

It's up to ladies, imo, to make sure their profiles are current and correct.   Generally speaking, I would say go by the ladies website as that is almost always the most current rate.   Also, when requesting your date, mention where you saw the ad as that might make a difference in the rate.  Example:  P411 discount.
If someone posted a special rate 6 months ago DO NOT assume that is the rate currently. You might ask her what the current is........I suspect you would be referred to a specific ad or her website.

TER has always responded to my problem reports the same day & made the changes I requested with no problem. Granted we do get busy & don't always remember to check our profiles & update when needed but all a lady has to do is favorite her profile & whenever a change is made (including a new review) she will be notified.

1)  You can approach the differing rate matter by communicating to her where you saw the rate in which you are interested but as others have pointed out TER rates can easily be out of date and ads for specials and the like should be ignored unless it is clear they are still valid.
2)  If it is not clear, sometimes you do have to ask.  Just do politely and discretely, something along the lines of "I'd be interested in getting together for x amount of time but am unsure of the rate."
