LChayse, you are right again and I post the same way--sometime ok, sometimes not so well.
The literature on blogs show that men are more likely to attack and trash women on line.
Just out of curiosity I pulled three non-shill days a year apart.
2013 4/17 Men and women posts were 50 / 50
2014 4/17 Men and women posting were 66 / 33
2015 4/16 Men and women posting were 80 / 20%
Do the extreme sexist vulgarities and bullying of some of posters affect board participation by women? LChayse you said it "Opinions matter."
I learned a great deal from Elan, Kat, Trinity, Bri, Belinda's et al's informatiive posts.
I haven't learned a thing from dirtyjesus or talon et al.
I have learned even less as the women disappear from the conversation.
I am sticking around for the ads. I like sex.
You pose an interesting question Pimpernel. I imagine there are a number of answers to it. Perhaps one day TER might consider a poll?
I can only speak for myself. Bullying is my biggest weakness. When I see it happening I am likely to have one of those "kick myself later" moments. For whatever reason it infuriates me & I'll more often than not come at the poster with a taste of their own medicine. I kick myself later not because I feel bad for the bully being the recipient of my spit & venom as IMO bullies deserve to get what they give. I am embarrassed at myself for allowing some putz to affect my mood like that rather than ignoring them. To my credit, I have made some improvements in that area but admit I still relapse from time to time & hit one between the eyes. Such is the life of a humanbeing. Heehee!
