TER and CV have a sweetheart deal between the two of them that allows them to post your info there and link it back to your TER profile and reviews. TER owns the profiles, we do not.

I have argued with CV for the past 7 of the 8 years that they've been doing this to me but finally gave up.

They are at least better now. Before they'd try to get you to pay for the ad even though you never placed it or knew about it. That finally stopped doing that a few years ago.

I have never posted on CITYVIBE, yet I just found my ad  on that site! Very disturbing that these sites will take ads without the consent of the provider and just post them. I try to be a very discreet advertiser and advertise very minimally. They even have a WRONG email address posted so if anyone tries to contact me, I would never get the email!! This makes me look very irresponsible!
Im sorry if anyone has attempted to contact me and has gotten no response. I do pride myself in prompt responses and good communication!
Hopefully that ad will be down soon and I am very upset with that site and other sites as well that take ads without permission.

You may own your photos and ads, but, once they have been posted online, you have no control over where they go and what they are used for.  I would hope that you and other providers would realize that anything posted to the internet is just gone.

I may be dim, but I can't see how that is beneficial to cityvibe in any way.  What am I missing?

They also posted an ad for me a couple of months ago.  I wrote them a polite note asking them to remove it and they did.  They also sent an explanation of their arrangement with TER and apologized for any inconvenience.

....a few years ago.  I think the ad for "Jenny" is still on there.  I messaged them about it..but never heard back from them.  They aren't the only ones doing it.  A good "friend" of mine that I see on a regular basis got an email from a "hook up" site with my photo and it was named AustinVXO.  He emailed me and said, "I didn't know all I had to do was join this site and you would drive 4 hours to me for nothing!"  The email from him was funny but I was NOT HAPPY about being offered up by some fake website!

This is a common practice not only with Cityvibe but with some other sites.  I suppose it makes them look more legit or drives their traffic up.
