It behooves us to practice the hobby in ways to NOT support sex trafficking. Some suggestings:

1. Avoid younger providers that may claim is their ads to be 18 or 19. If you go ahead and book with a provider and then upon meeting her she appears to be under age, WALk AWAY. Admittedly, many young providers are very attractive, but it seems just too risky.

2. Avoid providers that seem to be "managed" by a pimp. To me, one probable indication of that is when the phone number in an ad shows up in a google search for different providers. While it's true that some providers may share the same phone, the pimp option seems more likely. Other pimp clues is when they show up in photos in a provider's ad. Suggestions for other pimp indicators?

I recognize that there are numerous exceptions to both of these suggestions where the providers that may fit into these categories would NOT be part of a sex trafficking scheim, but they are ones that come to mind. I welcome your comments on these suggestions as well as other suggestions to avoid supporting sex trafficking.

DC brings up very good points. Personally, I won't use BP, just for that reason. I stick with very well reviewed providers and the ones with a track record, so to speak. I will not TOFTT, ever. Way too risky, in my book. Especially if they look young.

I totally agree .Use only reviewed providers ,there are plenty to go around.Stay away from young backpage girls especially,they may look good on their add,most use fake pictures ,are never on time ,come with a ton of issues,and truthfully if they were any good ,dont you think they would have reviews and advertise here. Also call one and see if they screen you ..Ha Ha give that some thought.

Agreed. If it were legal, I honestly feel "the biz" would be less shady and more enjoyable. It would be a lot more difficult for the bottom dwellers to get by. Not to mention that nobody should have the right to decide what two consenting adults can do. Gets me all hot and bothered in all the wrong ways just thinking about it!

I agree with you that we should start with the well reviewed providers. But for a new guy like me it may be difficult to get hold of some very fine ones who require two references. So I had to start with BP first and to get some references. Again even doing this didn't get me to the lady I want to visit.....

I agree. It should be legalized like some places in Europe and in Singapore. It would also help to control the spread of STD because the providers are examined on a regular basis.

The sad thing is that I doubt that very many attending will differentiate between the the under age sex trafficers and vast majority of us that are mature adults enjoying each other and not hurting a soul.

And the information LE could gather from consenting providers and hobbyists would help in bringing the true traffickers to justice.

Regarding the U of M meeting, I just doubt that there would be any attempt to present a balanced view of the situation.

You do realize that their are quite a few well reviewed escorts who don't advertise here, right?  And to say only see well reviewed providers ignores the reality that every one of those well reviewed providers was at one time someone who no one had heard of and had no reviews.  It's not that you don't have some good points but I think people go to far when they say don't see anyone who falls into the "young, unknown" provider.

Personally, I'm a middle-aged man and seeing someone less than 20 years old is just gross.

Many of the ideas presented in the comments above are sane, rational and practical. I fear that as long as the religionists hold such political power in our society, sex outside of marriage of 1 man and 1 woman will be marginalized at least, and (in their world view) outlawed at best. Sad. This is a very good thread, however.

I guess you have some good points also but I just feel better about the ladies here on TER than I do about bsckpage there may be some good ones with out reviews or adds but personally I'll play here .

I am also a middle age man.  I must admit I enjoy the young (But legal age) providers.  

But I do stay clear of a girl that appears to be underage.  I am very cautious about Backpage ads.  Lots of ripoffs, underage girls, and fake ads, mixed in with the real providers.

And ask Nancy Pelosi if she's willing to fight for the right of California Sex Workers...

it's not a liberal v. conservative issue. I'm sure there are still some anti-sex feminists out there, but they are in the minority these days. I think religion is the real obstacle for a livable, kind and sustainable world. Those, and sex for pleasure!
