wage financial analysis is extremely limited in its applicability in comparing marriage to fees paid to providers.

The biggest differential is the fact that married women continue to accrue value tax free for every year they are married compared to providers who must invest their (at least theoretically) after tax earnings.  The marital accrual of assets occurs to the wife tax free.  The providers must pay tax on their financial accruals annually.  As I have learned the hard way, it is wise to marry well.

The next biggest is that, as a generalization, sex workers tend to be poor investors of their money.  I could site many examples, but recall a woman early in my career who needed a car loan.  I asked her about her assets and she referenced her parrot.  She was an exotic dancer who purported to make $500/night (keep in mind this was 25 years ago).  She got the loan because her mother co-signed.  She made a lot more than her mother.

You appear to be fixated on the value of your pussy. Did someone hurt your self esteem by saying they think you're overpriced. Your recent adds have you priced where you should be.

the 30-50 yrs old, fore the most part, when these ladies that take care of themselves, look much younger than their age...

As a hobbyist, I just would not ask if a provider is married or has a partner, male or female, if she tells me, fine...does not change my view of her...I have never been married, so cannot really comment...have met many damaged people that have been able to overcome bad relationships over time...some not...

IMHO skills, confidence, level of service, menu and embracing their profession...within that same age demographic is where I feel this is the best value for me as hobbyist...

We like to say money does not matter, but it is what dictates our standard of living...sad but true...I have personally been downsizing my life since the housing bubble, live much smaller...

The ability to find a niche' market, volume, reputation, appearance...too many variables to consider...that may enhance or hurt your bank...other than just a providers age...

Interesting post...thanks KA...sounds like diversification, knowing your industry well and being able to morph with changing times; will increase longevity in potential earning capabilities...

I do understand the stats and the bell curve was very predicable...age verses bank...
Just my $.02
thanks
Kra

We could use more data and less opinion on this board.

Wages are not $280 per hour.  That is a session rate.  It is not adjusted to sessions per week, screening time, prep time (securing rooms, transportation, etc)  It is not adjusted for costs (renting rooms or apartments, special toys and clothes etc.) Another cost not taken into account is agency fees--half of the women were with agencies.

They estimate that escorts work 20% of 2000 hours per year, a staggering 400 sessions per year, which is 8 a week.  At another point they estimate 15 nights per month, 3 clients per night--this is 540 clients per year. This is far higher than the market.

The notion that women charge more to cover lost marriage opportunities (marriage related marginal cost) is so bizarre that it may be extraterrestial.  The idea that older women are more likely to kiss their clients indicates marriage substitution is off. Many women are displaced wives, others are not interested. The overall proposal of some kind homogeneous transaction of this kind strikes me as a bar fantasy.

Quel Surprise! men who reveal their preference for older women are more likely to review a second older  women.  And vice versa:  men who reveal their preference for younger women are more likely to review a second younger women.

They say that since the murder death rate of taxicab drivers is 41/100000 and there is a 100,000 escorts (no basis for that number) "we find it hard to believe that more than 40 escorts are murdered per year."  Oh really?  "hard to believe" is an odd standard for an academic paper but this one is spun from dross any way.

It is hard to tell what a troll called BigJohnson10 is obsessed with other than (wel), the size of his johnson.

If you accept the idea that a provider's vulva is their ATM, then all providers are concerned about its value, condition and health.

Attacking a provider who thinks creatively about her pricing structure (i.e., offering substantial discounts to hobbyists) seems to be counterproductive for all parties.

Perhaps you feel threatened by the competition (i.e., most assume you are male).

In any case, you deserve an honorary degree (if you are not already an alumna) from the "Drumsticks and Wadzilla Charm Academy."

I feel like I am reading a technical manual on ecomonic industry trends or nonfarm payroll reports. For me the article does not really provide much insight because it tries to answer an emotional subject with money and statistics. Some women believe that marriage is death, a point in time where you stop becoming you and start becoming trapped in a 24 7 jail of endless responsibility, compromise, duty and under appreciation. Some women think the marriage is life, a point in which you meet your soul mate who understands you, knows your needs and you work together to build a happy life out of love. The value of having children is also completely arbitrary. Maybe you want rediscover life through the eyes of your children or like the idea of immortality through your children carrying on your legacy or want to feel the sort of unbiased adoring love that only children can give you. Or maybe the thought of sleepless nights with the sound of a crying baby makes you cringe or maybe the thought of being responsible for a life 24 hours a day 7 days a week for decades scares the crap out of you or maybe you don't want to take the chance your body won't go back to the way it was before kids.

Even if you only looked at it from a money stand point where are the statistics on what the average women makes in a marriage? If you are on call 24 / 7 for years are you really making more or just putting in a lot more work? Do you want one big pay check after years of marriage or lots a smaller checks per client? Can you get a bank loan? Can you buy a house in cash? Are you going to invest in a 401k? What is the costs of medical benefits? Will the IRS notice you have little to no taxable income and yet can afford two $1500 mortgage payments on a house and a condo in the same area?

I think a much more interesting story would be to profile some escorts that truely became financially secure and retired from the business and ask the how they invested the money they got. Like worked a regular job while escorting, money from ligitamat job went to mortgage, 401k and IRA, spent cash on regular expenses, bought some rental properties, paid them off and now live off the rental income etc

...harshly and maliciously criticize Providers frequently. Why do you have to bring this board down with your vindictive and unprovoked attacks on people all the time?

Vindictive?:  Hardly. You are the supreme asshole on this discussion board. One of your ex-wives mentioned that you behave the same way in real-life. Is it any wonder that they have all initiated divorce proceedings?

...told me that she had to nurse you until you were twelve and she finally had to stop because the fellas at the strip club were complaining that they couldn't get a lap dance from her 'cuz you were monopolizing all her time and you were getting for free what they had to pay $10 / dance for!

The conclusion is that "prostitutes are well paid and that the wage premium reflects foregone marriage market opportunities."  They don't offer a reasonable explanation of why this would influence what their clients are willing to pay.  If a provider raises her rates because she consciously or subconsciously is compensating for these lost marriage opportunities, how does that influence the willingness of clients to pay that higher rate?  There may be a correlation between the two escort income and lost marriage opportunities but I don't see at all that this shows that the second causes the first.
