Okay, I spend much of my time in that condition, but I'm confused about something specific right now.  

I'm the kind of guy who likes to know what the rules are and is generally content to obey them. If I want to do something that is against the rules here, I'll go somewhere else and do it. The corollary is, I like to know what the rules are.  

In the Message Board Policies, which I'm sure we all have memorized, it says "Discussion of delisted providers/agencies is not allowed (except for rip offs, ROBs, etc)." So when a guy posted a comment discussing a delisted provider and talking about what she is doing today, I was confident it would be removed. And after the fact, when someone asked why that had happened I explained, basking in the warmth of my superior knowledge. Only someone else asked TER for the real reason and was told the comment was removed because it violated Friday Shill Thread guidelines. Huh?

And as someone else pointed out, a page down from here there's a lengthy thread memorializing retired providers, many of whom to my certain knowledge have been delisted for years. In one case a real first name is given along with the provider name. No problem there.  

And a few threads below this one, a guy asks about a lady because he noticed her Profile has disappeared. That is, he noticed she is delisted so asked for discussion about her. That thread has been there for almost a day.  

Personally, I think the rule against discussing delisted providers is a good one. When the time comes a reputable lady wants out, we should let her get out and not raise roadblocks to drag her back in. And if she wants to get out and come right back a few months later, that's okay, too, so long as she is not dishonest about it. But it's TER's site and they can make the rules as they see fit. Right now, I'm confused about what the rules really are.

I just reported the retired providers post (I can't believe someone thought it was ok to post face photos or links to them as if these ladies don't want their past to stay in the past), so hopefully it will be removed. If you notice stuff like this in the future, please hit the "report this post" button before it's too late. You can't stop your fellow hobbyists from being indiscreet on a public board, but you can help the ladies out by reporting careless posts. And yes, in the past, posts about delisted providers were swiftly removed because the boards had moderators. Now, there are none, so these posts are only removed as people report them.

Yes, you are confused.  

First, my post about what happened with the "best massage?" thread was about TER's response to MY attempted post in that thread.  In that post, which was not accepted by TER, I didn't mention anyone by handle (no real names mentioned at all) other than active providers... plus a couple of general comments with no names and no way to tell to whom I was referring.  The reason given for not allowing my post was that it violated the Friday Shill policy, e.g. any mention of a provider needs a link to them included.  

As for my post asking if anyone had heard from a certain provider recently, that kind of post shows up in this discussion all the time.  As for whether or not that provider was "delisted"... we don't know that is what happened.  All we know for sure is that provider's TER profile recently disappeared.   BTW, the intent of my post was NOT to raise roadblocks to drag someone back into the business.  

You probably also know there's a clear rule about not posting anything that is simply being mean or uses foul language.  And we all know THAT rule is violated regularly... several examples just within the past day or two.

The best explanation might be that TER is run by human beings, they probably have more work to do than hands to do it, and humans are not infallible nor perfectly consistent, especially across thousands and thousands of events.

Feeling persecuted are we? You got nothing better to do with your time other than posting overwrought  pointless drivel on TER?  Get a life.

No need to post this thread under the guise of being "confused."

There is a difference between banned, delisting and retiring. TER's official policy has been that delisted OR banned providers are not allowed to be discussed on the boards, period. This includes self delisted providers.

The thread you are referring to discussed RETIRED providers.

You do realize that TER has a Report this post feature, don't you after 31+ reviews and countless posts? How about, click that button and explain to TER the problem with all the post(s) you are referring to if you feel a mistake has been made. It would take less than 1/10th of the time that it took you to post six paragraphs of "confusion."

Now, I do understand that providers change their names all the time, some even unlist themselves and come back. When they do, TER has a policy of combining their new profile with their old one. It is a simple Report A Problem button at the top of a provider profile. This includes OLD REVIEWS.

They do not get to game the system, run away from their past or pick and choose which sets of reviews get to stay and which don't. Guys need to see all reviews of a provider, all 16+ pages of them so we can differentiate between the real ones and the shilled for ones.

Also remember, when a provider is active, ALL discussion regarding her is permitted on the boards including her PAST, drama and all. She doesn't get to choose which discussion regarding her gets to stay and which doesn't. Such discussion is useful in helping guys make a decision on if to see her or not based on their risk level. The only exception I see is linking to news articles that might reveal her real identity or posting her real identity on the board and that was never done or TER staff removed it right away.

There's nothing wrong with reminiscing about the past, just be smart about it. That thread revealed the real name of a former provider. Granted many people knew her name, but that still doesn't make it ok to out that info here. It's just not cool, just like posting a client's real name, address, job or whatever wouldn't be ok. Thankfully, I have yet to see one provider do that to a client (unlike hobbyists doing it on more than one occasion here - talk about dangerous). I'd hope that it wouldn't take the extreme of a lady posting hobbyists' info for everyone to understand why some things should remain off of the board....privacy.

I don't post here much, but I am super passionate about every single one of us being respected in this regard. I'd hate it if anyone was indiscreet about my clients' info as well as my coworkers (past or present). We ALL deserve much more.

Unfortunate that someone was sufficiently clueless as to post that.

but it seems to me, board staff has been taking a "use a hammer to kill a fly" mentality lately.

I didn't see the reason to remove the entire thread. All they had to do was remove the two problem posts within that thread and the replies to those would have automatically been deleted. The rest of the thread was perfectly fine.

Rather than make considered decisions, they just yank whole threads for any offense.

Chatting about delisted providers is a no no.  I get it.

There is a chance that my post was considered one of those at issue.  

If it was...I simply referred to the very public name that the provider in question used on her ads and on her web site.  In fact, her ads read something like "Meet  xxx   yyyy".    

So that was unlikely to be her real name but a stage name.  
The first and last name at the time was very open and public.

Also, for what it is worth, she is still running ads in backpage body rubs, with almost the same name.  And the same pictures.  Just a reduced menu.
