Shocked that someone asked for my LinkedIn profile

I keep a very low profile and have never posted anything here. But got tempted today.
A reasonably know  provider that has been reviewed here was intriguing to me.
I went ahead and emailed her my interest and provided some well known providers as references.
She first asks my picture. Then I responded back asking for her clean picture a d mailed a quick picture I took on my computer when I got her email.  As a response she asks me to provide my linked in profile.

Don't know if she was kidding, but that was the limit for me. I gracefully responded saying
That is too much of my personal info and asked her to have a good day.

Did any of you guys experience the same when a provider after a the references etc still asks for too much personal info..

Boy I was on the edge..
Inquiring for similar experiences..
-cheers!

It's an odd request no matter how you cut it.  We don't have any business asking or getting each others' Linkedin profiles.

I did not give my real ID at the same time the I do I provided is truthful with respect to references etc. someone new I would expect providers getting a little bit Andy but from someone who has decent set of reviews..
Maybe she knows me in person and wants to avoid each other knowing our outside world..

If a new provider won't take one of those, I move on.

But I have seen a number of provider websites that ask for all sorts of personal information so I am not surprised.

it is just another way of verification reassuring our safety as well
when I screen, I ask for full name, and employment information.
If I am giving you my all, I expect the same in return.
So I would not take that offensive....
:)

Do you really "give your all", though, including real name and where you live? I don't think either is wise, with each provider, or client, we see. If you're asking for full name and employer, you can find out a whole lot about the clients you're screening. Is that necessary if the client has already been vetted by a site like p411 or date check?

LinkedIn gives information on employer, past employers, business associates, friends, etc.  A provider doesn't need all that information, and giving it out gives the provider access to loads of info that no sane hobbyist would want any provider to have.

I look at it like this...P411 and RS2K require that us providers have a good standing reputation in the community in order to be verified and listed through them.

Our reviews here show that reputation, so I offer my promise that I will dispose of all personal info after meeting...based on my reputation of being reliable, sweet, trustworthy, and fun!!

The bottom line is our safety...for both sides, but I need to say that I totally prefer that all tigers be verified through those sites listed above and not make me your "first" because I do trust the word of the highly reviewed girls in the USA.

I would not suggest giving ANY personal info to unreviewed girls or poorly reviewed girls but I think that the ones that show a good reputation, should/could be trusted...especially if personal info is all you have!!

Good luck Tigers!!

Your lucky this is only your first. Weekly, from hobbyists, I receive LinkedIn requests! And they are sent to MY email: [email protected]

Isn't that more strange then your request??
Hmmmph,

Happens to me too & I never ask for work info,  references &/or verification site membership suffices.

Heh! That is so strange it can only deserve dead-pan response! So, have you considered setting up a 'Samantha Good' LinkedIn profile and accepting their invites. The truth just might set you free.

On the other hand, maybe you have a lot of lawyers in your posse in need of networking and you are being confused for another Samantha Good. ;>

The person must have his e-mails linked so they are using the same contact list.  Linkedin somehow mines these and sends out these requests.  My SO sent out one of these mass contacts unknowing.  I would be very careful if you are using linkedin.

And I don't login to any accounts from the rest of my life in that browser.  I don't know that this method is foolproof but I try to make it more difficult for the Googles and Facebooks of the world to collect my data.

Or.....the girls you gave as refs have a bad rep with bad reviews or other red flags that we find in verification processes.

I don't care for personal info myself. sorry for your bad experience.

Maybe you should try a kitty instead...meow!! lol

I once had a provider send me an invite to add her as a contact in my Linked In profile......C'mon....how does that look in among your professional colleagues you have a provider?  I don't know what she was thinking.  Unfortunately I had given her my real name. First and last time for that mistake! Obviously, I declined the request to add her to my linked in contact list.

I think mine is registered to someone else by miistake & that it's possibly an automatic thing because it happens a lot, I just ignore it since I have no way of getting into that account in the first place so I have my doubts anyone would add me . This is a good reason not to sync your contacts & use encryption.
