So which one of you called Don Shelby today?

Was listening to Don Shelby’s afternoon radio show today, and of course the top story of the day was this nonsense about that holier-than-thou city councilman wanting to use money the city doesn’t have to plaster our faces on billboards.

Though Don doesn’t come right out and say it, you can tell this ass backwards idea has his stamp of approval as he constantly insinuates that “hookers” are all drug addicts who need to be saved from themselves. He further insinuated that prostitution is always a conduit for other forms of crime, using some bullshit analogy about if someone steals something from you isn’t the person who buys the stolen property guilty too? So when he started taking callers to discuss the issue, I was sure he’d be inundated with calls from a bunch of obtuse my-grass-is-greener-never-mind-the-fertilizer types preaching from atop their moral high ground.

But surprisingly the first call was from a guy who is obviously a hobbyist, who told him just how ridiculous this idea is, citing the same arguments that are constantly posted here in defense of our favorite pastime…and added “there are a lot of nice girls out here, why not just leave them alone?” (Dead give away to being a hobbyist)
Had to laugh, knowing he was one of you guys. So whichever one of you it was who dared challenge Mr. Know It All on his own radio show, well done sir.
