I spoke with the TER "main guy" about this issue a number of months ago. It is a difficult process to administer as they receive hundreds of reviews each week. While there are some paying members, the majority of TER members are non-paying.

As the mod, I contact Staff about any questionable reviews, as I have done in this case. And I also understand that paying members do not want "made up" reviews. The system is not perfect ..... the best we can do is help each other on this Board as to questionable reviews and reviewers ..... for both hobbyists and providers alike.

I appreciate people (like tcg) posting such information on the Boards. He has obviously done his homework and taken the time to bring it to our attention.

I am ambivalent about this.

One reason I never joined [That Other Board] is because it charges the very people who provide its review content for the privilege of viewing those reviews.

At the same time, I have no doubt that people do submit false reviews here, just to get free membership. If they are smart, they make their fake reviews consistent with all the other posted reviews, so it doesn't look suspicious. Reviews that are inconsistent with those already posted my be true, but they certainly raise red flags.

As for me, I pay for my TER membership, because I don't like posting explicit reviews, and I really HATE the idea of assigning a number to describe a Lady's looks or "performance." Of course, I know this is hypocritical, because I do read and make use of reviews that others write. All part of my ambivalent attitude towards reviews, especially explicit ones. I guess if it wasn't for the numbers, which I don't pay much attention to myself, I might judiciously post reviews, for Ladies who gave me permission to do so.

I have NO qualms about posting "rip-off" reviews. But I tried posting one of those here, and it never went up. Never got any explanation as to why. So I figure, screw it, let everyone else find out the hard way.
