I especially like the idea of providers and hobbyists someday getting together to meet. Maybe even a dinner in a hotel, where have reservations (for the hotel and dinners)and whatever happens, happens! Or my personal favorite, far off hotel where I guy can meet a woman in a bar(stunningly beautiful woman) and they would never say no. Of course, the price would be included in the hotel room.
But just an interesting idea. This hotel would clean up let alone the escorts.
I haven't posted much but have lurked daily for the past few months. I started hobbying and checking the boards in Silicon Valley and got totally hooked on SFRedbook.com. Check it out if you want to see a really busy hobbying community. We actually had golf outings and some monthly mixers at strip bars that were great! I met providers and hobbyists face to face.
RedBook has areas for different interests and this really helps. I'd compare this board to the Conservatory board where people talk about everything. There are separate boards for politics, BDSM, AMP's, etc. and even an Underground for rants and flames.
The point is that Minneapolis is a much smaller group and has to make do with this one board, so we should all try to be a little open minded and just skip the posts we don't like.
I really like it when providers posts and interact. One guy complained that a girl was posting too much when she was posting jokes. I, for one, find that the more I read about some women, the more likely I am to see them. I get a feel for their personality. When it comes time to invest in a session, I am more comfortable spending my hard earned cash with someone I have an idea about. As we all know there are 2 parts to sex, the physical and the mental. A girl with avergage looks and a really great attitude will be a much better match than a beautiful woman with a bad attitude. Luckily in MN you seem to have beautiful women with great attitudes.
So as most reviewers note, BE NICE! We're all in this together, so if there are any teams its us against the LE, the Non-hobbyists and many, many wives and girlfriends who just wouldn't understand.

This is how you can become a hero in the community by uniting everybody once again. It sounds like a great idea that you have given a great deal of thought and energy into. I have no doubt you would be able to plan a fabulous event, so as Nike says, Just Do It.
My first suggestion would be for you to coordinate with a well respected local provider, so you could get their input and assistance in order to make the event a huge success. By having the ladies and gents working together, peace and harmony in the community would likely return.
JIm, I have tried this on a couple of accasions with very little sucess. Soem fear being in the public eye or that some will recognize them. Some fear that LE will come and look to see who shows up.
I would be game to give a go again if there is enough interest
Our first Mixers were at strip bars. If there is one place that this group will blends in, it's an upscale strip club. No one looks twice at a 50 year old guy with a 20 year old girl on his lap. Most of us went by our online handles at first, it was actually easier, since you could often remember some of their posts.
Once we realized that there was very little the LE could do if they showed up, we had more events at Bars, had a yearly golf outing and actually had some seminars on Tantra and massage.
LE really is the least of your worries at a Mixer. You read a internet board where people talk about hobbying. No one knows if you hobby or just lurk. Meeting other people who read that board and write the stories on it isn't illegal. (I have no way of knowing if anything written here is true.)
Finally, some deals get made at mixers, but as we all know those deals get made in bars and strip clubs everyday, so this is a non-event for the LE and would be a huge waste of time trying to bust people who write stories on the internet.
Not meaning to put her on the spot, but I would think Misty would be a good collaborator. She's well-known and she has a real people personality. Misty would be my candidate. She always has wit and always knows what to say. Everybody likes Misty.

I agree with your comments about the importance of both the physical and mental aspects of this hobby. The first time I took the plunge, I was nervous. The provider agreed to meet me for lunch as an ice breaker. It made our rendevous much more comfortable and personal. Thanks Jen! Also, the first time I met Taylor was at a social function, so when we hooked up, I was very much at ease. Thanks Taylor! I wish other local providers would come up with some ice breaker or get acquainted ideas. How about having a National Take a Provider to Lunch Day? LOL. There are several girls I would like to meet, and meeting them socially first would help. Time and money are valuable resources, and it's sometimes hard for me to try out new relationships, especially when there are a few providers out there that I really like and want to see again and again. Anyone want to go to lunch, my treat?
Also there are other boards in the Twin Cities, at least two that I am aware of, but they are not very active.
