This is a two day course with instruct officers on how to investigate Prostitutes, Pimps and Human Traffickers, etc. In addition to street prostitution, the internet has become a growing avenue for promoting prostitution as well as opening up a new venue for pimps to recruit young victims. The use of the internet has brought about a need for new and innovative investigative techniques.

The St. Paul Police Vice Unit has been working effectively to address internet prostitution and the human trafficking aspect. Requests for training on our tactics have come in from departments of all sizes and so we have set up this course to address those areas of interest.

This training course will stress the main functions of successful investigation and prosecution of prostitution related crimes: Including identifying suspects, setting up
proper undercover operations, the key elements to establish grounds for arrest, and successful prosecution. In addition to the classroom training, this course will include a second day of hands on training during an actual undercover operation. (Please note that you may be asked to alter your work hours for the day of the undercover operation).

Course Topics:

• Proper statutes used to prosecute suspects.
• Basic rules and policies to follow in UC operations
• Identification of prostitutes, and pimps.
• Identify Web sites used to advertise prostitution / human trafficking.
• How to perform an undercover operation for in-call and outcall services. (This is for both male & female officers.)
• Proper way to set up and execute a successful “John” sweeps (male prostitution customers)
• Equipment needed to successfully perform an undercover operation.
• Evidence needed during an undercover operation for successful prosecution of cases.
• Interview techniques

Basic Internet Investigations

Today’s technology and the prevalence of computers have caused a rise in criminal offenses committed via the Internet. Modern police investigators require specialized training to trace offenders, gather investigative information and preserve digital evidence needed for prosecution.

Course Topics : Tracing Internet Service Provider screen names, email addresses and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, Electronic evidence administrative subpoenas and search
warrants, Social Networking Websites (My Space.com), Seizing computer and electronic evidence(to include cell phones and PDA’S).

Attendees will also be supplied with and trained in the use of Knoppix Software commonly used by law enforcement to preview computers for digital evidence.

Equipment: Attendees must bring a personal or business laptop computer.

Stomach-churning and nightmarish!

Yes, some of the money all of us work hard to make is going to pay for this.  Sucks don't it.

frankly, I'm not opposed to stopping human trafficking.

Neither am I but when they arrest you it's not for human trafficking.

Go after drug dealers in the streets, murderers wandering free because there's no Fricken money to do Dna testing, homeless children becuase the pigs don't give a shit, neither do their drug dealing parents!!  Leave the fricken hobby alone and get over it.  It will be legal sooner or later!!  What a joke!!

All the idiots out there wasting there time, more power to ya!!  If the girls to idiotic to screen to see who exactly is coming to visit, then, well, maybe this is a wake up call!!  If not, well, ya deserve to be busted again and again and again.  The well respected gals getting busted, my heart goes out to you, and to the ahole that set you up!!  ALWAYS ask another provider he's seen recently, if not, well then, ALWAYS remember NOT ALL $ IS GOOD $!!!!!  No matter how the economy is!!!!!
