I would prefer not to see them posted. My reasoning is that some of the ads have photos on them. A legitimate massage therapist should not have her face shown on TER, nor should she be associated with the hobby. If she has a legitimate license, her reputation should not be in question inasmuch as her services are concerned.

If they are posted in the therapeutic sections of BP/CL or other ad boards they should not be posted here.

If they are in the erotic sections, then they are fair game. The implications of "extras" are already there.

If anyone disagrees, you are welcome to make your opinion known. Just don't make me think too hard

What a perfect time for this discussion since today there is a review concerning one of these very non-adult listed providers.  I think it's perfectly appropriate to ask a 411 of just about ANYBODY in the forum.  It's how it's handled afterwards that can be awkward.

Someone brought up barbers or legal ads.. If my lawyer Lisa, is giving me a HJ while looking over some contracts and someone overheard or wants info on her, I may respond in the background.  There is nothing wrong with the question.  Me coming out and dishing out prices, location, extras on the board is pretty much out of the question.  

I have submitted problem reports plenty (and have had many rejected, there seems to be no RULE here) regarding providers that should be in the massage parlor girls section rather then the straight escort section.  

IMO and it ain't humble.. If anything should be banned from being mentioned as "provider" or rated anything over 4 for service would be DIY.  On top of that i believe all these favorable posts and reviews as of late are shills.. My .02 for grins and giggles.

I stated that the discussion itself could be discreet or in back channel, like I stated previously I don't even like the fact that there are reviews pointing to a specific person at an establishment and try to get them moved.

This board is about intel and hopefully sharing information beyond the board.  There are many women I have not reviewed, for the main reason of being discrete.  I won't even share information about a so-called "legitimate provider" if she doesn't wish it.  The only time I wouldn't regard her wishes is if she outright lied or was a ripoff artist.  Then I feel just as obligated to fellow hobbyists to warn them.

Also, one of the previous 411's that prompted all of this was handled perfectly.  Someone asked for info and another responded there would be zip, nada, nothing to be had.

That's the point.. How does one know unless they ask?

The points that were brought up here were peoples method of advertising, not what they do once they open the door.

Just looked at the first five ads on BP's therapeutic section (massage) under services -

ad 1 "special"
ad 2 "long flowing strokes"
ad 3 "large dose of erotica"
ad 4 "stimulation for your ... body"
ad 5 "You won't be disappointed"

I know I'd have expectations, 5 out of 5.

Nonetheless, I think if the posting is under "massage" that it's better to just let it go. They've posted there for a reason and why not acknowledge that, with the exception of those who post in the "erotic" section as well.

Obvious tip - just look at the pricing.

So at which price should I look at 60 minutes $70, $49, $60?  $150?

But, what should I expect of a community that repeats endlessly that hobbyists should only see "well reviewed" providers.  As if they just appeared on TER with 20+ reviews their first day.

Legitimate spas I go when i get the time to charge anywhere from $80 to $125 for an hr massage too .

Idk if anyone remembers "sandy's" spa in the st louis park area around the late 70's- 89-90 before she sold it
( I happen to work with her daughter sometimes ) she charged 15 for a half and 30 an hr. 20 yrs ago. Price is definitely irrelevant.

on both CL and BP. A lot of them are clearly offering extras. It was not the prices, but the verbiage on a few but even more telling were the photos. If the massage girl is lying on her back or on her hands and knees, it sends a clear message.

I see no reason why there should not be open and flowing discussions in this area, but I will keep an eye on the posts.

Man, it's been a long time since I visited CL. brings back a lot of good memories and a few not so good.

I agree that some ads in the therapeutic ad sections of bp and cl are more obviously teasing you to believe that extras are possible and perhaps those are fair game, especially if there is intel to back it up.  But to simply post a 411 without any additional info is basically just posting a link to an ad for all to see.  Some of those might even be shills that are intentionally pointing us in that direction.  But to just throw stuff at the wall to see if it sticks is mindless and careless, imho.  

But many, especially those with face pics, specific brick-and-mortar locations, and nothing erotically suggestive should be left alone unless there is something more to offer her than just a 411.

There are plenty of massage providers that do "extras" that post under the therapeutic massage section.  If you are posting on backpage, you are fair game for reviews and postings.  My two cents.

Yes, we do.  There are other forums for advertising.  If you are on backpage, regardless of body rub or therapeutic, you are implying that more than DIY is available.  I could make a list but I won't.  Again, my two cents.  This forum is about taking away the secrecy so we can help our fellow hobbyist out on where to spend his hard-earned money.  I would hate having to take a shot in the dark every time I was looking.

Who are you telling where to advertise their services?

Where does an ad that says "massage lovers only " or "therapeutic only" mean or even remotely imply that extras are available?
Is it because the masseuse is attractive or you can see a bit of skin so that means its ok to automatically assume ?
Agree with ladyjae, posting their info without permission could damage their reputations
If its a legitimate non Erotic massuse she could lose her certifications or the establishment can lose their operating license just for having info on here or a similar site and direct the wrong attention to them because some don't have a VIP membership and cannot read the entire review where it would say DIY or zero extra available since reviewers tend to put that in the juicy details area and not at the beginning of the review.
So some readers could get the wrong idea and go see them mistakingly thinking because they're here there's extras.

This could also explain why so many low scoring /rip offs keep getting reviewed as well instead of being avoided.

Would be really irritating to get fired, denied a job contract or insurance because someone thought it was a good idea to put my info on here so when the next employer or insurance company does their Google search ( as they often do) finds me plain as day on "the Erotic review".

That because some provides advertise in the therapeutic massage section, that the ones who strictly offer therapeutic massage are fair game for being discussed on an open forum even though that may draw unwanted attention to them?  BP is already under pressure from various state AG's about their escort ads; anything that could result in people whose business is strictly non-erotic either having guys show up trying to get extras or even possibly LE show up trying to see if they do won't help the situation.

If BP took down the bodyrubs and escort sections then it turns into Craigslist all over again.
Making it even harder for someone to tell the difference even if the ad boldly states therapeutic only .

Sorry to cause such a heated debate!  Almost all the massages I have received have been off of theraputic or beauty sections and almost all have obliged.

I hear that.. I'd say my ratio of B&S is MUCH higher in the rub section.

Course these days everyone seems to prefer paying a couple franklins to jerk themself off.
