Yup, same thing happened to me too. I don't know what if anything could be done other then to let them know before hand.

I had some business today that took me to the Twin Cities area, and as I live in outsate MN I was going to take advatage of the situation.  So I left on my 2 hour drive with a few numbers of providers(some I had seen and some I wanted to see)  Made some calls on the way, Lizzy was the first to call me back, set a time with her,, which was 30 minutes later than what I was hoping for, but was gonna make it work,, a great provider with great reviews.  A bit later she called and wanted to move  the time back 30 minutes, that did not work for me, but we agreed on 15 minutes later.  So I called at the new time, and she said it was gonna be another 15 minutes,, which put me outside of my time lmit.  I told her that would not work for me.  So here I am, 2 hour drive, gotta be on my way in less than a hour, & no back up plan.  I have had this happen before, but thought with a well reviewed provider, I would be safe, so had no back up  plan in place.  It really pisses me off when providers have no respect for clients time. Those of us who live in outstate MN have to plan way ahead, and to have a provider not rescpect that is terrible.  I do appreciate her letting me know exactly what was going on however, I am sure that does not always happen.

I understand your situation but giving a provider a two hour notice is not called "planning way ahead."

She is not at your "beck and call" waiting for your call and could have been running errands at that time. Most providers do not maintain ready incall locations and she might have needed to get one. She might have also needed to go home, shower, change and navigate traffic getting to her incall.

You put her in a tough spot and she tried but that is the chance you take. She did have respect for your time, she called you at least three times and kept you informed of the situation unlike many other providers who would have hung you out to dry and blown you off.

The only mistake she made was agreeing to see you within that two hour time frame but nothing else.

FYI - I have not seen her but plan to.

unless I'm not understanding what happened.

Same day appointments cannot be guaranteed.  These ladies have lives.  Some have kids.  You need to respect her time.  If she tells you it's not going to work, you're not going to force any lady into a good quality session.  It's not a perfect world.  Even Joe Mauer strikes out now and then.  Would it do me any good to tell anyone here how much it pisses me off when the Twins have the bases loaded and the batter strikes out?

It sounds to me like you made the initial appointment then something came up on her end and while she tried to make it work within your schedule, she just couldn't.  She did ask for a 30 minute delay initially.  It looks to me like it would have been better if she had just told you she couldn't make it any earlier because that would have at least given you a little bit of time to make a few calls.  That's hardly being disrespectful IMHO.  I know it sucks when that sort of thing happens but sometimes things just don't work out.

I have not met Elizabeth, but it sounds like she was trying to accommodate you and simply failed.  No matter her intentions, that's totally on her for agreeing to an appointment that had a high likelihood of failure.   However, knowing you had tight schedule and a long drive, it baffles me that you spent your time "planning" by jotting down phone numbers and consider that "planning way ahead."  Frankly, you were lucky to find someone on your list who was available during your 105-minute window.  If I was driving from 2 hours away I'd want that appointment confirmed AT LEAST a day or two in advance, but that's just me...

"Same Day Appointments CANNOT be guaranted?" Where does it say that in her ad or profile?  There are plenty of women who charge $100 or so that you can see with a "same hour" appointment.   I mean, why should we expect women who charge $300 per hour to act like professionals?  Of course she has a life. ALL business people have lives, but still manage to run their businesses professionally.

but how do you know she couldn't find someone to watch a child after trying?

And by the way, I'm silver, not white.  I've never seen Elizabeth.

If she NCNSed a guy, that would be unprofessional.  Complaints like these make me understand NCNS more.

Sorry, but your definition of "plan way ahead" needs work, especially for someone 2 hours out of town.  When your appointment time window is smaller than your commute time window, I'm not sure how you can realistically expect to be accommodated.

Believe it or not, most of these ladies actually have lives outside the biz and don't have time to sit by the phone waiting for somebody to tell them the exact hour to be available.

I also have not seen her and have no immediate plans to, so no "white knight" agenda, just pointing out a little reality.

I think your out of line on Lizzy. I have never seen her yet , our schedules never lined up, but have talked to her and she is very professional and a class act. She returned my calls and seemed very willing to do whatever it took to accmodate me. Read her reviews ,shes one of the best providers in the T/C area . I dont believe anyone works harder at being available as she does Cut her some slack ,shes not at your beckon call.

I see the word SOMETIMES (do you know what that means?)  she MIGHT work in same day appointments.

I did some post history for you.  My suggestion for you is a trip to the pet store.

But I've never been accused as being a White Knight.  I think this is a good thread to bring some back to reality.  You, and Elizabeth to a degree.
Elizabeth did make a mistake here.  The mistake was trying to be too accomodating with your tight schedule.  She needs to step back a back from her desire to be so accomodating.  While the money is great for her, it would have been better if she had just said, "I don't think I can guarantee to be able to see you.  I can try to make it work, but perhaps it would be better if you see me next time in town and give me a better notice."
Elizabeth does not have a regular incall  location and has to arrange it.  This delays things and I think she gets optimistic about her time schedule.  I have had a significant delay with her, but it didn't matter as I was not on a tight schedule.
Elizabeth, you are a top notch provider.  You do need to fix this one problem by stepping back a bit and not trying to be so accomodating.  It's with the best of intentions, but you need to know your limits.
Rod, make better plans.  Since you were in the Cities anyways, I can get how you wanted to take advantage of the window you had.  However, the window created its own problems.  Don't get all bent out of shape when everything doesn't fall to your schedule.  Perhaps next time use a traveling agency.

I am so sorry that this happened! I didn't know that you traveled 2 hours to see me you never said anything about that, you just said that you had to be somewhere at 2:30 and it was about 45 minutes away, when I called you back to reschedule! That would have been good information to know to begin with! Things don't always work out the way we plan them to. I am sorry that you drove all that way and things didn't work out. I never meant to cause such an uproar! I am only human!

Love Always,  Elizabeth XOXO

Here are a few more facts:

At the time I wrote the original post I was very frustated having wasted a lot of my time

SHE suggested the time, and I said, I can make that work.

If she had said, I can not make until later, in the firs place I would have politley said, "that is outside of my time frame, I will try to connect with another time, maybe with more notice."

Then I would have had time make other arrangments.

I realize lizzy has great reviews and a great following, and I am aware that sometimes **** happens

Thanks everyone for your replies, I will let this be now.

I am a prifessional and take what I do seriously! I am only human and can make a mistake! Have you ever gone to the doctors office and had to wait past your appointment time to see him/her?! If you want to call being late bad behavior there is a lot of that going around!

Sincerely, Elizabeth

WOW- It is her problem you live 2 hours away and cant plan more then to call to make an appointment on your drive?  She told you she needed 30 minutes and was nicest enough to try to compromise to 15 and it didn't work.  Guess being nice doesn't pay off she would have been better off just telling you no.

And what is it with airing dirty laundry on here that is tasteless.  She tried to accommodate you, your lack of time and planning and it didn't work out.
