I have been thinking about making the transition from FS to massage (or, at very least, offering both with equal regularity). I don't know a ton about that side of the biz. Would the massage lovers in the house be so kind as to answer a couple Q's for me?
1. How much does actual massage training/CMT licensure factor into your decision of whom to see? A lot, a little, not at all?
Pretty much not at all - I have a therapeutic massage provider, so my sensual providers are chosen for sensuality.
2. Where do you look for massage ads? I'm guessing mostly BP?
For me, the BP 'body rubs' section is generally where I go first. I'll almost always come here to do extra research on anyone I'm interested in seeing.
3. What sorts of things are most important for you to have a good experience -- think location, her outfit/demeanor, music, shower availability, availability of "extras" (oral? something else?)
My list of wants has changed over time and will likely continue to change as I get more experience with massage providers. For instance, it used to be a bigger deal for me that the location had a shower, but my current favorite massage provider does not have an incall shower.
Currently my 'big three' are as follows:
- incall: I haven't yet made the leap to having providers visit me at my place, so you'll need to have one.
- e-mail scheduling: it's simply more convenient and gives me more confidence in the provider than playing 'telephone tag'. If I e-mail a provider for the first time and get a quick response (2-3 hours or less) and attractive pictures, it makes me much more likely to follow up with a scheduling request.
- kissing: while this is a specific thing I look for, I think the more general point of 'put the things you don't do up front' is a good one - a provider absolutely has the right to decide what she will or won't do during a session, but finding out 20 minutes in that the provider I'm with doesn't like kissing really dampens my enthusiasm for the rest of the session.
4. Are you less likely to see a massage provider who you know also offers FS? More likely? No difference?
The only time it makes a difference for me is when I'm working out my 'hobby budget' for a given time period - I expect that a FS provider offering massage will be more expensive than a massage-only provider, if only because I assume the FS provider will offer more sensual options.
5. How much screening is normal for massage providers (ladies can answer this too!) ... How does it compare to the typical escort screening process?
I can't say that I've ever been screened by a massage provider, at least in any way I was aware of. I usually mention my TER handle, and that's always seemed to do the job.
6. This one is more of a personal curiosity than a business question: why do you go for massage instead of FS? To each their own, obviously! I'm just curious what stops you from going, uh... "all the way," so to speak.

Partly it's financial - as noted above, non-FS massage tends to be less expensive than FS; I can generally schedule three one-hour massages for less than the cost of a single two-hour FS session.
Mostly, though, it's because the 'sensual' part of a well-done sensual massage gives me the things I'm looking for in an erotic encounter: intimacy, physical touch, a chance to connect on an intellectual or emotional level. My favorite providers have been the ones with whom I've felt cared for and about, and to put it bluntly, I don't need to fuck somebody to get that feeling.
Hope this helps!
