This is all really helpful. A couple follow up questions that I just thought of, if anyone is game:
1) How do you figure out what extras massage ladies offer? I guess reviews help, but if they don't have reviews... is it just a matter of clues/key words in their ads, or their price, or do you just have to meet her and find out for yourself?
2) It seems like once the session progresses past HJ, especially for the "exchange" massage, it might be more practical to have a bed available than a table. Do people have a preference for that--bed, table, or both? (Ladies' thoughts on this would be helpful too!)
I have been thinking about making the transition from FS to massage (or, at very least, offering both with equal regularity). I don't know a ton about that side of the biz. Would the massage lovers in the house be so kind as to answer a couple Q's for me?
1. How much does actual massage training/CMT licensure factor into your decision of whom to see? A lot, a little, not at all?
2. Where do you look for massage ads? I'm guessing mostly BP?
3. What sorts of things are most important for you to have a good experience -- think location, her outfit/demeanor, music, shower availability, availability of "extras" (oral? something else?)
4. Are you less likely to see a massage provider who you know also offers FS? More likely? No difference?
5. How much screening is normal for massage providers (ladies can answer this too!) ... How does it compare to the typical escort screening process?
6. This one is more of a personal curiosity than a business question: why do you go for massage instead of FS? To each their own, obviously! I'm just curious what stops you from going, uh... "all the way," so to speak. ![]()
Thanks y'all!

I am strictly a massage guy. To answer your questions:
1. CMT. Not important at all. Many make the claim, few have the skills. And when they say they are licensed, that’s a scam… there is no licensing in MN. Different cities have ordinances for conducting the business but nothing about qualifications. So CMT claim is meaningless in most cases.
2. For now BP. CL has become worthless, and to be honest, BP is slowly becoming that way with all the young ones who come and go in a few weeks hoping to make a few bucks on their good looks while providing shit service. They post multiple ads and fake photos. And unfortunately, TER is losing some value because guys post reviews that aren’t totally honest or objective. So even armed with TER reviews you can be facing a crapshoot.
3. Maturity is important to me. I don’t like the mindless chatter or the continual upsells. Personally, I like lingerie or skimpy outfits. Topless is nice too. I like the mind tease…wondering what’s underneath. Only extra that interests me is nude.
4. I don’t think any of the massage providers I have seen provide FS. I never ask because it’s just not my thing. I don’t know (so I am probably wrong and shouldn’t comment, and I’m sure the ladies will take me to task here…and please set me straight)…. I think FS and massage are 2 different things. A FS provider might not want to do an hour-long massage, and the massage providers aren’t into FS (especially with all the DIYers out there).
5. I cannot comment on the screening of FS, but most massage providers work by email or phone calls. Some of them will give you a general area and ask you to call when you’re there, others will give you an address. Not uncommon for a number of providers to work in one location, so giving an address is not that big of a deal.
6. For me, I just enjoy the sensuality of touch. I really do like a massage, so if I can find a nice lady (mature) who can massage, converse, and be extremely sensual without being sexual, that’s what I like. Just me. And hell, at my age, I’d probably last 15 minutes with those gorgeous providers anyway… then what do I do for the remaining 45 minutes? Apologize?
Actually hun there is licensing in Mn. Mpls is one of the few cities left without regulation.
St paul requires 500 hrs, St Louis park requires licensing too. Eden Prairie along wiith several other cites have recently added licensing with mpls soon to follow I'm guessing in the near future. What is lacking is an actual state board .
I happen to be internationally registered so thanks for calling people like me a scam it's nice to know people think our hard work & dedication means absolutely nothing... Little do you know the media blasting us with all those "be a massage therapist & be rich fast " ads & all the Walmart style chains are slowly killing the industry to the point where some of us can't make a fair split at a high end medi-spa or chiropractic clinic. Not to mention how boring it is!
I happen to like being on both sides of the spectrum.
Also I screen probably more than most massage ladies do. Mostly because much like an escort I'm in very close quarters with someone I don't know very well. So to avoid bad situations I keep the same rules any FS lady would.
I'd say most who know me want the same thing as any other hobbyist has said here.

Please. I meant no disrespect to those who have actually earned their certificate. But a certificate is not a license. One can graduate law school and not be licensed to practice law. Your reply confirmed what I wrote: There is NO licensing in MN. (There is no STATE licensing board or standard..you wrote it yourself.) I also wrote that CITIES have ordinances for licensing. (Please re-read what I wrote.) But often times those requirements are for the BUSINESS and not necessarily for the individuals. The intent of my posting was to let the original poster know that just because someone writes in an ad that they are a CMT, it doesn't mean they are or have skills. I have had massages that are crummy from ladies claiming to be CMTs, and I have had some great massages from ladies not making the claim. And I can also say that I sure don't see many certificates on display.
Whatever the case, I didn't mean to belittle or besmirch anyone's hard work. I am really sorry it came across that way. I really meant it to be taken as, "Don't base your decision SOLELY on one's claim to be a CMT." It is but one factor to consider, and I, through experience, have learned to give that very little weight in my decision.
So... please accept my apology. I really meant no disrespect to the honest, hard-working ladies in the profession. If you are the "V" I am thinking of, I am aware of your steadfast reputation.
No problem hun just sayin.
Oh and there is a sort of mock up of a state board ( the health department) also the OPAC office reopened a year or so ago. Anyway I also believe there's people with degrees that can't massage worth a darn lol I've had them! obviously I'm not displaying mine for privacy reasons just like one is allowed to use a hobby name with me. Like I was saying before I treat this aspect of my business the same I would as an escort
Discretion is always key!
Anyway I think the area is over saturated & there's only a handful of us ladies that are really into it.
One can get burned out booking back to back appointment just as easily in massage as in escorting.
But to each their own.
Xo V.

Discretion, safety, and honesty always appreciated. I can understand the burn-out factor and honestly don't know how you do it day in and out. Those of you who really ARE professionals are known and appreciated. Hats off to you and the others!! Just need to weed out the phonies who ruin it for the rest of us. Best to you, V!

2. I do look in BP (Body Rubs section) to get an idea of who's out there, but TER is more valuable to me to find providers because of the reviews. So if I see someone in BP who looks interesting, I'll check TER too.
3. A great FBSM experience to me includes a relatively convenient, safe, private location; a clean, comfortable, relaxing environment (incl. temperature, lighting, music, clean linens, good table/futon/bed); and availability of warm towels for clean up at least (shower ok if towels not an option). But "demeanor" is most important to me. I mean, I am going to have a woman I've never met before put her hands, various body parts, and maybe lips/tongue all over me. That requires a woman who can project warmth, trust, consideration... and of course sensuality. I think that is what above all else distinguishes the "good" FBSM providers from the "great" ones--personality. You either have the right personality for it, or you don't. Really hard to fake it, and not something you can be simply trained in... although training could help improve what's already there. As for "extras"... I'm a big fan of nude b2b massages. Also I prefer the provider to help me relieve my stress
4. I know I am probably in the Minority Opinion on this one, but I am not looking for FS. So a FBSM provider who doesn't go there at all is preferable to me. Not that it would rule her out entirely, if she offers FS, but providers who offer FS tend to charge more than those who do not. Also, I expect a lot (most?) of FS providers really enjoy that part of their sessions so I'd feel I was depriving them of something.
5. Screening... you'll get better answers from the ladies on that one.
6. Why FBSM vs. FS? Well, suffice it to say I have my reasons... and they're very personal.
I can't get good leverage on a bed lol however if we ended up there it'd be nice to have...*winks*
As a massage lady I expect others to assume a YMMV approach with me that way there's infinite possibilities.
I set my rates considering what's available around town . People will always & forever try to get a deal no matter what it's set at I've found during the last 16 yrs. It is a factor but someone will always pay it.
I think clever wording etc gets out of hand since the non erotic tends to send very mixed messages i;e girls in swimsuit or suggestive poses yet no HE or other extras at the end.
I feel for you guys getting confused by that.
Nice to read that a lady uncerstands the confusion. Thanks! Yes, some of those pics can really send mixed messages, but I always go into a session making no presumptions and sort of follow her lead so she is comfortable. No point in being a presumptuous cad. If the service isn't good, I don't repeat. It's that simple.
I am not a FS person either. Nude is generally a plus.
Some actual massage talent matters to me, along with a good relaxing attitude.
When I get to know a therapist reasonably well, I like it when BBBJTC is offered. I have had a few therapists offer FS, but that is not my bag.
Please don't get me onto my rant about DIY is the work of the devil. Some TER reviewers seem to be willing to pay $200 to pleasure themselves. Boggles my mind.
I don't understand the whole DIY thing either, but that's just me and not being judgmental. I've only had a couple offer FS, but I always decline. Just not my thing. I guess I am an odd duck because I really do go for a nice massage. I just appreciate the sensuousness of a woman's touch. If it's provided topless, all the better. Nude = a real plus.

Re 2... IMO tables are fine for FBSM including exchanges. Heck, they're designed for massage! It's actually pretty easy to transition from one party to the other on the exchange, with a good table. I usually agree with the provider to do the exchange when I flip, but sometimes the provider gets massaged first. Futons and even beds can work OK too, I've had some experience with both, but I think it depends on the massage style of the provider as to which is best. Most FBSM providers I've seen use tables, and some offer a choice of table or futon, or table or bed. But if a bed, it had better be a sturdy, firm bed!
-- Modified on 2/17/2013 8:44:21 PM
I very much enjoy exchange massage, and have found tables more convenient than beds. For me, the benefit of exchange massage is the pleasure in touching a beautiful body, and in hearing my partner's response to my massage. It's much easier to get a good response (and thus more pleasure) when using a table.
Oh I love exchange massages!
Hardly anyone asks me but I always leave that option open hence why I don't bother with a fancy outfit or lingerie most of the time, that and who wants product on their clothes? Hehe
1. How much does actual massage training/CMT licensure factor into your decision of whom to see? A lot, a little, not at all?
CMT/LMT or some sort of formal training is quite important. There many be a handful who are excellent without training but the ones I've enjoyed have had some formal trainings.
2. Where do you look for massage ads? I'm guessing mostly BP?
Used to be CL, BP, Google, Local papers
3. What sorts of things are most important for you to have a good experience -- think location, her outfit/demeanor, music, shower availability, availability of "extras" (oral? something else?)
Mood sets the tone, extras are nice and it would help if this was hinted. It's very confusing seeing someone new if they're sending mixed messages.
Also DIY is IMHO a scam, not ragging on people who does it but just personally find that a little bit disappointing.
4. Are you less likely to see a massage provider who you know also offers FS? More likely? No difference?
Not much difference if her massages are great!
5. How much screening is normal for massage providers (ladies can answer this too!) ... How does it compare to the typical escort screening process?
I find that the screening is the same - except in 1 instance it was even tougher than the typical companionship screening, ah well.
6. This one is more of a personal curiosity than a business question: why do you go for massage instead of FS? To each their own, obviously! I'm just curious what stops you from going, uh... "all the way," so to speak.
Sometimes I just need a good massage and an outlet for stress relief.
I definitely agree with something that Knotsway said... people have many reasons for why FS may not be their thing. Some preference, some personal, some associated with other relationships or commitments...
My experience has been mostly FS providers, for a few reasons. Not the least of which is what has already been mentioned about mixed signals... a happy ending is much more of a sure thing with an FS provider, whereas it may be YMMV, or DIY, or be based on the phase of the moon with some massage providers.
If you think if some of the great FS providers right here on this board... It is exciting to know that you can go to one place, and a lot of different things can happen--a LOT. And sometimes I want all that versatility, including FS, Greek, French, Russian, and a whole bunch of shit I haven't even heard of yet.
BUT... often times what I want is something that is sort of a "tweener" between massage and FS. It has the cuddling, kissing, making-out-under-the-covers-in-bed aspects of FS, instead of the "technical" massage on a table... but instead of FS, may involve one, or a few, of the really sensual manual releases that massage providers are often known for. Sort of like FS foreplay replaces the massage.... and a massage release replaces the FS.
1. How much does actual massage training/CMT licensure factor into your decision of whom to see? A lot, a little, not at all?
Currently my 'big three' are as follows:
- incall: I haven't yet made the leap to having providers visit me at my place, so you'll need to have one.
- e-mail scheduling: it's simply more convenient and gives me more confidence in the provider than playing 'telephone tag'. If I e-mail a provider for the first time and get a quick response (2-3 hours or less) and attractive pictures, it makes me much more likely to follow up with a scheduling request.
- kissing: while this is a specific thing I look for, I think the more general point of 'put the things you don't do up front' is a good one - a provider absolutely has the right to decide what she will or won't do during a session, but finding out 20 minutes in that the provider I'm with doesn't like kissing really dampens my enthusiasm for the rest of the session.
Mostly, though, it's because the 'sensual' part of a well-done sensual massage gives me the things I'm looking for in an erotic encounter: intimacy, physical touch, a chance to connect on an intellectual or emotional level. My favorite providers have been the ones with whom I've felt cared for and about, and to put it bluntly, I don't need to fuck somebody to get that feeling.
Hope this helps!

1. How much does actual massage training/CMT licensure factor into your decision of whom to see? A lot, a little, not at all?
Most guys know or assume that a "massage" provider have not been trained (paid for massage school).
So don't worry to much about that. As long as you can provide a great experience you will do good.
2. Where u look for massage ads? I'm guessing mostly BP?
That is where the bulk of my biz comes from.
3. What sorts of things are most important for you to have a good experience -- think location, her outfit/demeanor, music, shower availability, availability of "extras" (oral? something else?)
From my POV
Location: not too visible but easy to find with convenient parking.
Outfit: whatever you're comfortable wearing. I prefer yoga pants & tank tops.
Demeanor: just be you baby, your regulars will appreciate it.
Music: sensual, sexy & a good beat but no dance music
Shower: not necessary, but hot towels are a great alternative
Extras: most like having an option or two on the ending but you have to be comfortable offering them
4. Are you less likely to see a massage provider who you know also offers FS? More likely? No difference?
Men like variety, as long as your menu is to their liking, they will call.
5. How much screening is normal for massage providers (ladies can answer this too!) ... How does it compare to the typical escort screening process?
PM me for that info ![]()

That answer will range from A to Z. Your will get some answers once you do massage sessions.
Hope that helps, need more info just PM or call me.
Have fun girlfriend

Any time spent with you is a treat.
Hell, knowing its just a great massage might make the time even
more relaxed.
1. How much does actual massage training/CMT licensure factor into your decision of whom to see? A lot, a little, not at all?
--I like a good massage. For me, I do the massage for both the ending, and the massage. While a highly touted massage won't necessarily make the decision for me, it sure helps. On the flip side, a review that says the massage was awful (or some form of it - like "she used lotion and rubbed it on for 5 minutes" or "she just brushed her hands across my back and had me flip") will be a deal breaker for me.
2. Where do you look for massage ads? I'm guessing mostly BP?
--TER and BP for me. Every once in awhile I'll venture into CL's "therapeutic" section to look for someone new that might be close to where I live.
3. What sorts of things are most important for you to have a good experience -- think location, her outfit/demeanor, music, shower availability, availability of "extras" (oral? something else?)
--Unscented oils, good wipedown with a towel if there is no shower (but a shower rocks), good demeanor and attitude are huge (I just like to get the impression that the person doesn't hate the work!). As for extras, I'm fine with a HE. I've gone the DIY route, but just don't see the point for the same price.
4. Are you less likely to see a massage provider who you know also offers FS? More likely? No difference?
--No difference, aside from the expectation that the massage will cost more (as others have said already).
5. How much screening is normal for massage providers (ladies can answer this too!) ... How does it compare to the typical escort screening process?
--My experience has been very little screening. Usually just email, or perhaps 2 call system, at most.
6. This one is more of a personal curiosity than a business question: why do you go for massage instead of FS? To each their own, obviously! I'm just curious what stops you from going, uh... "all the way," so to speak.
--I'll answer this one from a personal perspective (most everyone else has just said "personal reasons" - which is what I think you are actually looking for with the question). For me its all about risk. I love the idea of FS, but I just don't want to deal with the added risk. I tend to worry about STDs after a FS encounter, even though I've always used protection. I'm sure someone will tell me FS is not risky with condoms (and I'm happy to hear the perspective on this from other hobbyists or providers - in fact, I welcome it), or that massage is also risky. There might be some risks with massage, but I have to think they are very minimal...and given I like the hobby, it seems the least risky way for me to partake.
