I lived out in Maine in the mid-late 90s and I remember when I would fly back to the midwest to see family I would go down to the docks in Portland on my way to the airport and get live lobster right off the boat for like $7 a pound and they would wrap the lobsters in a little seaweed in a little cardboard box and I would take them as my carry-on.....  Nothing like fresh Maine lobster.  Good times!

Just priced some lobster at Byerlies.   4 oz tail was $10 each, that's $40 per pound and that includes the shells.    That stopped me in my tracks, and I'm re-writing my seduction menu as I type.     Will save the recipes, they look great.

A while back it was suggested we have a weekly recipe thread. So let's see how it goes. Here's one of my favorites.

LOBSTER SALAD THREESOME:

Curry Lobster Salad
Ingredients
1 cup of Lobster Meat
1/8 cup of finely diced celery
10 cherry tomatoes, diced
1-2 tablespoons of Saratoga Garlic Curry Aioli Sauce
Directions: Mix all ingredients together. Place in a 1-Cup Measuring cup and press down with a spoon on all sides and center. Flip upside down and slap bottom of measuring cup to release the lobster salad.

Asian Lobster + Crab Salad
1/2 cup of lobster meat
1/2 cup of crab meat
1/4 cup of Makoto Ginger Dressing
1/2 avocado diced
1 Tablespoon finely diced fresh dill
Directions: Mix all ingredients together. Place in a 1-Cup Measuring cup and press down with a spoon on all sides and center. Flip upside down and slap bottom of measuring cup to release the lobster salad

Tarragon Lobster Salad
1 cup of lobster meat
1 Tablespoon of Lite Mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon finely diced fresh Tarragon
Directions: Mix all ingredients together. Place in a 1-Cup Measuring cup and press down with a spoon on all sides and center. Flip upside down and slap bottom of measuring cup to release the lobster salad

Serve with a salad or your favorite bread: hot dog rolls (Lobster Rolls New England Style), Corn Chips or Baguette -- and a bottle of white wine.

All three recipes look very good and since they're all salads, they're good ideas for summertime meals. Including a "crab" option, however, may invoke negative conatations on a board such as this. (At least it did to my warpped mind.)

Lol! Any post here or on any other internet forum can invoke negative connotations. This recipe is actually an appetizer BTW.

raw clams, freshly washed, and of the mammalian variety. I know, I can resist anything but temptation.
