Some times it's hard for others to think how this inflation has impacted everyone and things continue to rise ( which is very unfortunate). I had to change my rates very slightly due to the rise in cost of paying for my advertisements & everything else also life things, car insurance, food, and gas etc. As for some other comments, just have to keep an open mind every person had a business model they need to pursue. I do miss Sweet April. Never did a double ever. But April, Portia, and Sassy Red, were some of the best. Red is still around and working. Last time I seen April was 2005 it was a 2 hr date, late around 10pm, I did not want her to leave so I extended our date, she ended up leaving at 5am.

I am not trying to argue the fees that they set we simply have to always decide just like anything else what you are willing to lay on the table for your dream service and until you find it keep looking, they may find you !! . The ladies back in the day were truly special and the memories can still rock our socks off if your memory has not escaped you like the services of the past may have. But that is not to say that there are not gems out there to be found and cherished while we all continue to hobby. lets all stay safe and be well while treating each other the way you want to be treated too!

And the impact it had on the industry, two of the ladies I listed had never heard of TER until they met me. One was hustling on livelinks and the other I had run across in yahoo groups doing some work on her own for fun. She was ahead of her time actually, would have made most of the OF ladies look like wannabees. According to both of them, TER changed their lives and they actually started making decent cash and the clientele was far superior and safer than what they were accustomed too.
Yes i remember and remember many of those beauties. Those women were true professionals honest, gave it there all not clock watchers new what a man wanted and how to deliver and a pleasure to be around. Those days are gone, now they come into the business wanting top buck for mediocre performance. They can't seem to put there phone done to worried about there next date and how much they can suck out of you with there upcharges, there use to be no up charge what you paid you got laid. They didn't come up with bs like they college degrees and gift lists and I'm so high class you have kiss there ass all the time. Not many phonies or rip offs,, not to forget the games and poor service these ho's play today. In fact these gals new they were ho's and were proud of it and tried to be this best ho's they could be. Now days they all think there rock stars. If you suck cock and spread your legs for a living your a ho try and be the best ho you can be and be proud of it.
who are you dealing with? Everyone I know personally in this city is not a clockwatcher, isn't fiddling with their phones*, and work their ass off to please their clients. Not only that but they've worked their way up to their current prices: some started in the $200 - $350 range years ago and are now hovering around $450 - $600 for the first hour. But my question is what was the expectation over the last 5 - 10 years? That as the cost of living goes up that prices should remain stagnant? That as the cost to be in the business rises (advertising prices alone have gone up significantly over the last two years), our prices should remain stagnant? Don't even get me started on the 30% withholding for taxes (yeah... we pay our taxes). Also, I would argue a lot of us are very proud of our work but I digress.
Now where I do *sort of* see eye to eye with you about is our industry's need to consistently engage in "class drag" (re: your statement of "college degrees and gift lists"). But I wouldn't lay that blame entirely at the feet of providers... part of it is also on clients. I went back and looked at ads from 2010 - now both on the MN Discussion/Ad Board and a few others and noticed this evolution. It wasn't just providers feeding into "class drag" (re: emphasizing post secondary education, wearing designer clothes, etc.) but clients were wanting it ( re: "she doesn't have to be here she's so educated" or "she's so put together and more intelligent than I though", "she's clearly doing well and not just seeing anyone off the street"). But class drag has its benefits: may find clients with more disposable income, can earn the same amount so they can lower their volume, they can screen in a more safe manner, etc). So while "class drag" has helped some workers and created cracks in this idea that all people in this industry entered into it as a "last resort", there are some major drawbacks to "class drag" as it erases survival workers. But I think it's also important to recognize this "class drag", especially when used by the most marginalized/criminalized in our industry, it's to help protect them from the stigma of being in this work. Because whatever we may feel about the "class drag", there is stigma, especially for workers who do not fit conventional norms.
Anyway... I just wanted to put that out there and say there are some amazing providers here in the Twin Cities, some still on TER (like Jasper, Ginger, JerseyGirl, Betty, Anna, etc.) and some that aren't on here that I wish I could name... and I think y'all are luckier than you realize.

But people don't walk into employment with top pay with low skills or experience and then 6 months later are double that. This thread was about the good old days, reminiscing and dreaming and i feel it has taken a bit of a turn of defending and posting to be noticed, but at least it has not been hijacked by the incessant babble of videos and pecker flexing by our favorite arch rivals............. I have to agree with fearless guy in a lot of his points. I am not a fan of the words ho and prostitutes even though the truth hurts......I think I shall just continue to talk about my provider who escorts but that is just semantics I guess. I too have hobbied for 20 plus years and the industry has changed dramatically. Hilary Holiday would strangle me if i did not refer to her as anything but an aescort and she was the absolute treasure to be with. We hugged and she excused me with no discussion of more time fees or her feeling short changed cuz she had just as much fun as i did. My first experience with greek was when i found myself deep inside Portia and I was not even sure where i was and it was all part of 'the service' with no negotiations or barter, just fun had by two. The comment on phones, most of the providers if the phone is not next to them on the bed or table, they are very aware everytime a bell/whistle/or alarm chimes off softly and/or the music that is playing has a time for completion on it. Yes I realize that we bargain and pay for a time and most i have been with, more than once anyways, are super engaged and not paying much attention (outwardly anyways) and because of that i shall gladly become a repeat customer VIP if they allow. Paige continues to defend the fees that are out there nowadays as part of inflation but those of us in other provider professions do not have the same luxury of asking higher and higher rates and just continue to get it. If your fees of 600.00 to 800.00 are being asked they just better be STELLAR with no question of being the best that is out there. One of my instructors in school used to say that if you were able to see the absolute best of anyone out there in your field and could choose that provider .....the answer had better be YOURSELF......you must set that standard, The new ladies that jump in and begin there sessions at 400.00 with additional upgrades and rules for every little touch and lick, are hard for us to understand since we may be old in the hobby but still have a mind that can remember the good old days of service dictating the fees. We, as the guys that are addicted to this hobby, should not be held hostage by a gorgeous women with our hope that they my 'Choose Me!!'. Schedulers still have too much power in my mind and some of the ladies are not getting the true pick of the crop (US) if their scheduler makes all the decisions on who gets scheduled. I also do not understand the talk of class drag so i shall leave that alone and just say that those of us in the hobby have a responsibility to make every encounter the best for both and not complain about the outcome if that was your goal.
