I was reading a post about using a credit card vs. cash for a hotel room, and the credit/gift card seems to be a good answer to that.  Does using a local address when checking in raise red flags at the front desk?

Sometimes I would like to get a hotel room just to be closer to the BIG city (I'm only 30 min. from downtown Mpls, but for those who are looking for someone in a Southern location, it's hard to get to at times)...

I wonder what day of the week would be best to get a room down south (Bloomington area?)

I've used my local address many times, and it never raised a question.  As far as I'm concerned, it's none of the hotel's f--king business.  If they don't want my money, they can tell me that.  But if they take my money, what goes on behind the door is my business, not theirs, as long as it doesn't disturb other guests.

I have stayed in very nice downtown hotels.  It is not unusual to do a downtown retreat, if you live in the suburbs.

location often. This is why I change locations weekly and do not go back to a hotel more than two weekends in a row (in any given week, I reserve 1-2 days for incall). Reason being, I will always remember the front desk lady checking me in at a favorite upscale hotel of mine and saying “you do this a lot, so I am sure you do not have any questions.” Oh no!, was all I could think. So, now I change locations, change locations and change them some more. The downside of booking hotels downtown Minneapolis is that there are not that many to chose from that do not require key access (which is completely not customer friendly to me), limiting the places in which to move around….

BTW, my excuse (which may or may not work for you) for using a local address is that I just need to take a weekend away from home. The response I typically get is, "oh yes, I feel that way at times too. I hope you have a relaxing time while here!" Also, you could say your house is being remodeled as the reason you have a local address, yet need a hotel.

Yes, you can't just keep using the same hotel.

Attire is an important feature. If you wear a business-like suit you're going to raise fewer questions than if you show up in jeans and a sweatshirt.

Look professional and act professional and nobody is the wiser. I do agree with your reasons for switching locations. Not many business people frequent the same hotel 2 or 3 times a week, 52 weeks a year

Now that is the tricky part. You need an end room or you need to keep her head off of the headboard.  Oh ya, try to keep the groaning and giggling volume down.

It would seem that as the respected/established providers seem to have an amicable relationship with one another, and with many providers having invested in private incall facilities. Maybe some sort of time share swap/arangement could be aranged among friends. Say a south metro provider uses her friends north location on Wednesdays while her north metro friend uses her South location. This seems like a tight group, why give money to a hotel that could cause trouble. just a thought.

I must have booked a couple hundred hotel rooms in the three years prior to this one and the same state address has never been an issue, no one has ever asked about it, and I have never offered an explanation for it.

However, as Giamarie said, it is wise to stick and move - change locations frequently. Having hotel clerks see you often enough to remember your name is not a good thing.  

BTW there is nothing wrong with Bloomington, only certain hotels in the area to avoid, but that can be said about any city.
