So this whole thing started out as an amusing inside joke I have with one of my favorite providers. I have a somewhat common name and she's commented on that fact a few times, and it's caused enough confusion that eventually she and I came up with my own name to use with her just so she can keep me straight. No big deal and it's a nice connection that I can share with her.

Cut to sometime later when I setup an appointment with another provider. The day of the appointment I check in and she remarks that I saw her the day before but she'd be happy to see me again if I'm up for it. Only there is one problem, I didn't see her the day before. This in turn results in all sorts of confusion and a long laugh as she soon discovers that she saw someone else with my name the day before (or at least she hopes so as she called him my name during the session and he never corrected her.)

But here's the thing, today I contact a third provider about trying to set up an appointment and they remark that they already have me down for one. Only it is on a day that I always work. Meaning once again I am at the mercy of someone else treading on my name.

What.
The.
Fuck.

So here's what I've decided, all of you a-holes who are using my name need to stop right now god dammit. I do not have the mental facilities nor the memory to be coming up with an alias for every provider I want to see. I've already come up with one, so you fuckers need to share some of this load, cause this is getting really annoying, and if we're going to be sharing a name then we all need to be just as annoyed with one another.

For serious.

I apologize in advance for lmao at your post- I understand your frustration, however I'm sensing a sarcastic humor that is highly amusing!! Well said!

On the other end, while others are having a laugh at the confusion of the common name, I agree with you that it's NOT funny. From a providers end, these aliases with a common name are confusing. Imagine an inbox with several of them; I have also on a couple of occasions received emails from these gents who were using more than one similar email address. Needless to say, this this takes confusion to another level.

I  for one would really rather not sift through archives in order to make sure I know which fill-in-the-blank I am communicating with. It should not be complicated.

Now, to the gents who have come up with a unique alias, (you know who you are) I appreciate you!  And I'm betting all the Smith's, Johnson's, & Anderson's thank you, too.

I don't doubt your story (or maybe I do), but why would someone steal a name of someone who has only one review? (Assuming that it's you TER name that's being used.)

Not my TER name being used, and I don't think anyone is stealing it. More like sheer dumb luck and makes for an amusing story.

I sure don't like to assume anything but in this case, I've never heard of anyone named Katuluu. He said it was a fairly common name. He has written one review. You wrote your first at one time, yes? Well, how would we know...I see nothing suspicious about his post. No info seeking, etc.

Oh- and he didn't use an alias to post.

Sorry for your stress and frustration, it sounds like the provider might have given another guy that nickname so she can easily identify him too... have you asked her about it? Very strange to be "already booked" or "just seen the day before" with ladies you hadn't seen!

Anyway, best of luck to you.... if you can't clear it up with your provider friend just choose another alias and let your close references know so they can still provide references.

I'm sorry about your trouble. But I gotta laugh a little.
All in all regardless of what name people use, I give them super hero aliases or SciFi characters to keep track.

how about just using your real name?   I am certain there will still be some duplication if you have a very common name like Bob Smith and John Anderson but certainly less than what happens when gents use those same common names as an alias.

If you insist on using an alias then pick something unique and creative with a touch of humor thrown in.

I feel for you but it is rather amusing.

A static email addy is just asking for trouble. The same goes for a cell number. To play safe, (or paranoia..lol) I change email and phones on a regular basis. (And yes, I use Hushmail.)

"If they can't find you, they can't catch you," as the saying goes.

When you change things, just tell your trusted providers that its you with a new email and or phone number. I've done it multiple times.

(Although Astrid did get a little confused last week with my p411 name and stuff because it as our first time. Oh, I had a great time Astrid!! you rock!!

Thank you, Breadmaker. The vital piece is letting your references know your new email address.  I can't verify friends for other ladies reaching out to me unless the info reflects what I have within my archives...I want my friends to be safe.
Have fun! There is no other Breadmaker ;)

86 ladies named Kelly? Beautiful name, but 80 too many.

Clients build their brand for verification by keeping their identities straight. I once made this mistake with Astrid and it took a week to clear up.
Name uniqueness is better than sexual cliches. (the same goes for the 86 US providers who call themselves Kelly).  Stability of email address is also important-use a serious email system.

Screwing providers up seems to be my idiom. Might as well roll with it.
