...in Kowloon Bay. It's lucky for me these people know English. I've taken an interim position about as far from Minnesota as you can get. It's the funniest thing; talking to a Chinese guy that sounds like a Brit. Seriously, I busted out laughing. I asked him to say "The name's Bond. James Bond." He thought I was drunk.

Anyway, I'm not used to having a social secretary. She keeps telling me she's from Wan Chai. I finally asked the doorman what the hell that means, and he said it means she'll do anything I ask.

Ya know, the games we play back and forth in the states kinda heightens the actual moment. Having it thrown at your feet... it's not as fun. Seriously.

Wan Chai is where the crazy nightlife is... and my assistant apparently knows the area well. So if you're heading for Hong Kong and looking for some fun, it's pretty wild over there.

Except for the expensive residential areas in the hills. Oh, wait, they're probably even crazier!

(I had a moderately embarrassing HK story for you, but your PM didn't open. Can't tell it on the post, sorry.)

I just need to stay out of trouble for a few weeks... it's going to be hard :)

is that you can get in trouble without even knowing it's tagging along, especially after a dinner out with suppliers. Doesn't take much imagination to figure that one out, I guess.

When were you in Hong Kong Mark4444? It seems
like you've been around the world the way
you talk!!

if you're dealing directly with suppliers, whether working for a company or for yourself. I'm not a "world traveler," but have been around more than the typical Minnesotan.

When people meet me and find out how much I've traveled, they often think it's romantic and interesting. When I think back, it seems like an endless string of semi-embarrassing stories.

"And then this one time, at band camp..."

How long are you going to be in HK? I go back every couple of months. I will be there again in may. Let me know if you are interested in getting together out there. I can show you where the locals go. If you have a china visa, I can bring you to some crazy places.

I'm not white listed for China as of now. I'll be here (HK) through May at the latest, but my contract allows me to return to the US once in April and again in May, so if I come back in May that'd probably stretch my stay until early June. I'm not loving the plane ride... 15+ hours from HK to Chicago. They pop for business class so I get a lot of sleep, but still.

I'm about 90% sure there's going to be an offer at the end of the temporary stint, but I'm not going to entertain that notion just yet. As of now my days are long and I'm in no mood for anything but bed time at the end of the day. It's about a quarter to 5am and I'm up reading this board lol! If I decide to become permanent out here then for sure we'll have to  meet up.
