The proportion of scamming advertisers on Alligator is about the same as on Tryst or Eros.
Being scammed has everything to do with due diligence and nothing to do with sites.
People advertising on Alligator are there either because they don't know any better, or they're working the cheap market, or they are using every site available. E.g. it is not unusual to see someone on Alligator with one stage name and price, and the same person elsewhere with another name/price.
I've seen maybe fifteen providers from Alligator (which is really MegaPersonals/ AdultLook/CallEscort).
Five or six were great fun (five were repeats), four or five were disappointing.
One was a robber.

If anything I would say if you find a gal on that site ask where else they advertise/website/social media to do your due diligence. I do at times place an ad on STG (it is free!!) but it is very generic and just redirects clients to my other ad sites and my website. And in closing, I don't care what website you found a provider on, if you are robbed or scammed report them!!! This is another prime reason why we need to decriminalize sex work. Sex work is a legitimate business and needs to be treated as such by the buyer and the seller.  

Yes, every site has  some scammers and con artists.  But it's always seemed to me that some have less and some have more.

I always (almost always) find ways to report scams when they happen.
This one's for Vorlon: the proportion of scammers on Eros and Tryst seems to me to be about the same as on Alligator, although I know they look less polished.

I will correct my math (BUDDY!!) and we will go with 1/3 instead of 1/2. That is still pretty high. You say you are doing "due diligence", can you explain exactly what that means?  
And yes, I am picking on you. Are other guys having these same high percentages of getting scammed/robbed? I honestly don't know. If all guys are having the same issues that is a huge concern.  
As a provider I also obviously do my due diligence to make sure the client that is trying to book with me is not a dirt ball.  I would say in all the years of doing this the biggest highway robbery I had was "vegetable soup guy".  (He was top notch!! lol)  
The only difference I can see from Tryst and Eros are their scams are probably being done mostly electronically, not in person. Again, I am speculating, confirmation is appreciated.  
If you can add more information as to how the scams took place and these providers MO that would be helpful to clients and providers to help keep our community safe.

It was in Brooklyn center.  I remember 10 or 15 years ago one of the hotels in the area was sued by a female who was being traffic there. She claimed that the hotel owners knew what was going on and would get kick backs from the traffickers.  It's pretty obvious that there is tons of illegal activity happening at the hotel I visited.  Makes you wonder who else is getting paid off ........

I am honestly not very familiar with MN. When I visit on a tour I always stay in Bloomington. I have stayed at the same hotel there for 10+ years and never had any issues. Some places unfortunately attract riff raff, so that might be the issue. Do you recall the name of the hotel? Do you remember what happened with this female? I don't remember reading about it.

The super 8 and Travel lodge in Brooklyn Center have the same people working at it.

It appears you're not familiar with the bottom of the barrel websites and this is what this guy is talking about.  You're not familiar with the area either which also adds context to his post.  If the suburban 494/694 ring around MPLS/St.Paul had a skid row for lodging, the area he is talking about would be it.  The properties  up there make the shithole no-tels along 494 in Bloomington look like 4 star properties.   Even at this age, I'm still pretty bold but I would have to think twice before parking in one of those lots and leaving my car parked there unattended.  After dark, fuck no, all a guy is asking for is trouble.  I'd rather park my on Lake & Bloomington at midnight and go for a stroll than walk into one of hotels in BC.

Not saying your wrong at all about that area being sketchy AF, but I would estimate that there are a few hundred thousand dollars worth of transactions going on there each year.  It is a horrible area for people in the hobby though, amazing it's still around.

Seems like a hot zone for getting either rolled or busted by cops.  I don't know if the local leaders like all the rif raf contained in one area being the reason they allow it to remain as is but it's a shitshow and has been for many several years.  Can you imagine a family finding a "deal" on priceline and arriving there and seeing hookers & johns roaming around?
