When I began hobbying the rates were 2 or 4 bucks for an hour (2011). Top end girls are now up to $1k per hour. Rates have to temper lower to keep them viable. For one, the economy is going to crumble, big time. Clients may lose their job, and if still working money is disappearing in the stock markets. The average rate for the current Top 10 in Minnesota is $400 per hour. If you want to fly out to New York or San Francisco and see providers who charge $1k an hour, go right ahead. But “top end” providers are way less than that here. And I don’t think there’s been much change in those rates for top FS providers going back to 2012, when I started. Not much more than the rate of inflation, anyway.
While you’re comparing prices, compare rents and home prices in Minneapolis from 2011 to today. 😏

I don’t recall many top FS providers at $300/hr in 2012. But if for example the average back then for the Top 10 was $350, adjusting for inflation gets us to $394, which is really close to the current average for the Top 10.
And there’s several top FS providers charging $300-350/hr, if that’s someone’s budget.
If top providers were to slash their prices as the OP suggests they should, they’d have to increase volume to make up for it. I don’t think that’s a great idea for the health and safety of providers and their clients in today’s world.
300 was the going rate. Now it varies between that and 4. Can’t go higher tho. My current ATF just raised to 5 and I have to stop seeing her now. A little annoyed she didn’t grandfather her regulars

supply and demand will meet the need to maintain a lifestyle or simply eat and sustain life. Rates don't NEED to change but they probably will for many. There are providers all across the spectrum that are doing this for their own reasons or at least that is what we assume. Hopefully there are none doing this against their will. I expect the dynamics of this to change a great deal however. Worse case? Soup lines, a collapse of the monetary system, urban upheaval, tribal affiliation. A complete breakdown of society; BBFS for an hour in a basement for a case of ramen from the homeless hooker.
Most likely? The bottom will fall out of the market and those that have saved much of their income will be fine and may continue to work or maybe retire to a better climate. Those that haven't saved any money will prob keep doing this because they have little choice. There will be great competition for scarce civilian jobs and having no work history will be a big issue. Getting any short or long term unemployment will also be a huge issue for many who can't document a history of lawful income. This whole thing is going to get ugly, we just don't know to what level.
I find it funny how we as clients try to tell providers what to charge. It is their body, their business, their income, etc. We should have no say at all. If people want to pay that amount it is on them and good for them. If people don't want to pay that amount... then good for them as well.
It is like if you go shopping for anything.... if you are looking for the "deals" or "price" you get what you pay for. Sometimes it is great and works out. Other times you are left disappointed and wish you would have paid more for something better.
We shouldn't tell anyone what to charge. it is their business and body. You as a client have a right to see them or not. That is it!!! If a provider starts to not get the business they want. Then it is up to them to decide if they want to change. NOT US.

Still doesn't mean the providers are going to pay any attention to us. In the end all we really decide is if we are willing to pay what they are asking.

While we are in store for a recession, if not at least a depression, I find that the next few weeks will be more telling. While clients should never outright tell a person what they should charge or try to negotiate, we can easily read between the lines (at what rate are we getting booked vs. not). People will do what is best for them. I'm sure some of my colleagues will keep their rates as is, some will lower, and I imagine, some will stay the same. It really just depends on a person's particular situation.

Secondly, my very first experience (I haven't been hobbying as long as Vorlon, but almost) was with someone ranked very highly on TER for a cost (the memory is clear) of $400. Then fifteen years ago the experience of my lifetime with the most wonderful woman and it cost $800 for 3 hours; at that time she was brand new to the business, and averagely priced. So there has been very little escalation of prices. Isn't it amazing that it still costs more or less the same. But I am also aware that I am not willing to pay significantly more.
$400 was the average rate 15 years ago? I know a few ladies who are still active that have been doing this for that long and I bet they would disagree with that. One lady was 300 about a year ago and jumped to 400 and I made a comment. She said that is the average of where she lives (here). Well she went back down to around 300 so looks like she wasn't busy.
One lady I met a few years ago was starting at 200. By the spring she jumped to 350, then that fall she went down to 300, last summer I noticed she jumped to around 425 then now she went down to 250. It had nothing to do with clients telling her what to charge. It had to do with advice from colleagues "What works for one colleague may not (and probably won't) work for another". Girls are trying to play keep up with their friends and you can't do that. I was in Vegas last month and I learned that ladies are not as busy as they say or perceive to be. There are a few ladies that charge $1000 here and some that do 700-800 too. They just do not have reviews and if guys see them they don't tell anyone. A couple reviews have popped up for for 600 and above and they mostly said they were overpriced for what you got.

I have noticed a lot lately that I would guess well over half the providers here are single moms with the dad nowhere to be found. If you see the girls on a semi regular basis they will trust you and open up to you and you will be amazed what you find out. Plus now that ladies have to do online virtual appointments they are slipping more information about themselves like who they need money for. I could never pay anything over $400/hr even if I was bank rolling a million a year. I just see way to many hard working Americans slave away for less than $300 a day before taxes.
On the flip side, I've been seeing a mixed Slavic girl from Europe at $300/hr for over 5 years. After a couple of sessions I inadvertently tip her $50-$75 every time; I even drove my ass 5 hours just to see her a few towns over. Hardest working, kindest, and most beautiful girl I have ever met. Most people are stuck at home and not spending money on traveling, eating out, sporting events, concerts, and everything else. Between this and many getting stimulus money for themselves or their business, they have extra cash and are now spending this on the hobby. I believe there has been a 20 to 30 percent increase for many providers rates. I know this because I have been experiencing local girls I saw pre-Covid charging an additional $100+ per hour. It’s no different than the grocery stores charging more since nobody is eating at restaurants. Once things open up and things get back to normal the demand will go down and so will prices. I also believe that we are likely going to enter a second Great Depression within the next 12 to 24 months which will disrupt rates.

Your post has a lot of speculation. You may be somewhat correct but there is not way to truly verify what you are saying is accurate. If someone is getting stimulus money, it is not money which can be used exclusively for discretionary income. The reason people were receiving these funds was because they are/were out of work. These funds are likely be used to pay rent and buy groceries. While I have not done a pre and post COVID analysis, to the best of my knowledge the grocery stores have not imposed predatory pricing and are not charging more than pre COVID prices.
As far as the next Great Depression, what economic signs are you seeing which leads you to believe this will happen?
Grocery store prices are up since the pandemic started. From what I have read, it's mostly due to increased demand (people are eating out much less) and supply chain disruptions, such as meat packing plants closing for a while due to COVID outbreaks. I don't believe there is much in the way of predatory pricing but prices are definitely up.
I think the jump in rates is exccesive According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics consumer price index, today's prices in 2020 are 13.21% higher than average prices since 2012. The U.S. dollar experienced an average inflation rate of 1.56% per year during this period, causing the real value of a dollar to decrease.
In other words, $100 in 2012 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $113.21 in 2020, a difference of $13.21 over 8 years.the jump in rates is at least 30 percent and in some cases 50 to 100 percent 600 to 1000 for one hour is way over the top and in many cases they dont even have reviews. Actually adjusting for inflation would put reasonable rate at 450 for previous 400 dollar session. Now I still mantain that they should charge whatever they want but will they price themselves out of business i guess they hope so. they have with me.
According to TER profiles, only four of the top 25 providers in MN are more than your “reasonable” $450, and most are $400 or under. Plus there’s several excellent providers not in the ratings for whatever reason (like not enough reviews) under $450. So there should be lots of options for you.
Are there even 600-1000$ ladies in this state? I found a few and that takes a lot of research. 1 that I know of has a few reviews and they are not good. When I started this 6 years ago 300-350 seemed the average with very few even over 400. I don't even think 450 is really reasonable (in this state). It is all really where you live - statewise. There are plenty of ladies that I saw 2-3 years ago that were 300 and 350 that now charge 450+ and there reviews totally disappeared. I am sure they still get some business but no one talks about them. One problem is alot of these price hikers are all friends and hang out together and they all seem to be the same rate now and they were all considerably lower back 2-3 years ago. Also all of these girls have stopped getting reviews (none since ter came back). They also seem to travel to locations where there rate works when they really never traveled back 2-3 years ago. I know a lady last summer say the average of MN was 450-500 and that was laughable (reason why her rate jumped) - she is one that has had her rates go back and forth lately trying to figure it out.
As for lowering there rate to go with the economy - that would never happen. I only know of 2 or 3 ladies that have even lowered there rates in the last 3 or so years and that is even looked down upon. These ladies have way too much pride and the best they would probably do is grandfather you in at the rate you have seen them at but that has been talked about plenty in the past and that causes major issues between providers.
i simply posted that to correct the idea that a two hundred plus hike in rates does not follow inflation as was posted ealier. i maintain that women can set there own rates and let the market decide . i just know there is a limit i wont cross..
