leaning more toward a regular. In my case I'm pretty shy and reserved at first so it takes a bit to open up and really enjoy things. Downside to that is I end up hardly seeing anyone for fear of giving a bad first impression. Kind of a no win situation.
Do you prefer to seeing many different providers or do you like to become a regular. I know that this question depends greatly on the frequency of which one hobbys. I for one have an ATF, but she would never know it. I may have seen her once or twice. I am a buffet play kind of hobbyist and as I read the boards this last week I think I have dicovered why.
After watching people air out their dirty laundry with their regular provider or wine for attention from their ATFs, I lean more and more towards buffet play. I am sure it also depends on how well someone can handle the hobby. Those having problems or creating drama as they go through the hobby might want to seek another path of enjoyment... I hear shuffle board can be fun. But who am I to say anything, I only know what happens when that door closes behind me, not when it closes behind you. Each of us is different and the chemistry that I have with provider might be just about finding the boiling point, while others are about understanding the reactions of organic compounds.
I am sure that there are those who have master the art of doing both. I am more than positive that there are those who have seen the same provider year after year and will continue to do so. I am sure that providers enjoy knowing who is going to walk through the door or maybe there are those providers that enjoy the rush of not knowing. I like the rush of novelty, so I suppose that is why I am a buffet play guy.
The one thing that I have noticed at least from a hobbyist point of view is that scenery is nice, you get to have fun, you get to share, and most of all you get to enjoy life. I am sure that what ever path you choose you get all of that and more.
I love if a guy knows what type he is & lets his new friend know. It helps later on when thinking of him....
It's also nice to know they may like you but are a certain type & you may in fact see them again after 6 months or a year,
Variety is the spice of life & everyone's definition of spice..is unique. =)
Maybe we should wear labels. It would make things so much easier
There is something about a first meeting, kinda like a first date, that's exciting. The firsts are always intriguing and not knowing what to expect has a good sense of discovery for me. I love the butterflies (not the overly cautious ones) but the ones that make me go "what is he like", "what does he like", "how is all going to go". It's like a first date but you know you will both go home happy!
Then again, I truly enjoy getting to know someone better. Learning their personalities and feeling comfortable right away. having a sense of deeper "relationship". Yes I said relationship because it is a type of relationship. I love the regulars that I have and some of them I go to their house and feel instantly welcomed ... I have some that I can just walk in and start making dinner and know where to find the wine bottle opener. Always keeping a line but getting the true GF experience without the lasting expectations and drama.
So in conclusion, I like the best of both worlds. I want my cake and eat it too!

building a relationship with someone who knows what I want with out having to ask is so nice!
My opportunities to have some fun are pretty limited so I tend to be more of a repeat guy. That first meeting is always exciting for any number of reasons, but more often than not I like the anticipation of second, third, etc. visits. I like the feeling of reconnecting and meeting with less anxiety than I generally experience at that first encounter. Also, on subsequent visits, the lady is more comfortable and may expand her menu a bit; always a nice surprise. Having said that, the occasional opening of a new door is also intriguing. Decisions, decisions.
There are some providers I seem to be able to count on, and I like that. But there are some things with a new (never been reviewed) lady that can be crazy wild nice, I like that too!
I have only been at this hobby for a short time, but I know already that I prefer to see just one provider. The connection is important and I have no desire to bounce around.
Sex is sex, but really enjoying my time with someone is an entirely different thing.
A little of this, a little of that, then you go back for more of what you liked best or what you are more in the mood for ... Then all the sudden as you are on your 3rd, 4th, 5th plate you see something you didn't before .... Mmm wonder what that tastes like
I am mostly about the buffet. I tend to think it has a lot to do with the subconscious need of the male to spread ones seed as far and wide as possible. I do have a few ATF's that I have seen multiple times yet I have also gone to a lot of one and done ladies (Who were also wonderfully special and giving of their exceptional abilities). I don't hobby a lot but I try to look for those that truly stand out from the masses and have not only the physical attributes but the social/emotional empathy that a truly great provider embodies. Often it seems about the time I find an ATF that I want to "commit" to for my hobbying dollars, she tends to retire. That also pushes me back into the buffet, and yet I welcome the novelty of discovering a new lady that can still teach this old dog a new trick or two.

I tend to travel allot for my profession so while on the road its fun to sample the local flavor, but at home I tend to stick with my ATF's. By far my best hobbying experiences have been with regulars or 1st time visits with companions I've built a relationship with via the boards, PM, and twitter. Building that connection really brings out the best in a session.
I like seeing the same men. It makes it more intimate and lowers my risk of assault, robbery or good ole uncle LEo.
I also like the guys I see to be more like me....regular steady types.
However, I am not around often so that makes it HARD. I do like giving recommendations for guy friends to ladies I know. It's fun when my lovers hook up with my girlfriends!

There are about 8 ladies that I really enjoy a lot. I would like to see them all as regulars, but there is that little matter of time and money. Maybe I can win the lottery and solve the problem

Changing personal circumstances, desire to reduce LE risk or possible bad experience, arrival or departure of favored providers. All have played a role in my changing approach over time.
