END OF MESSAGE

I am also a member of the "Ignore Morris1969 Club".

The only issue I encounter with the "ignore" function is that I must be logged-in for the setting to be acknowledged. Otherwise, I will see Morris1969's scat trail along many of this discussion board's threads.

The Erotic Review management should be aware that Morris1969 is inhibiting revenue. I am usually a basic member. However, I like to purchase random monthly memberships after I have committed to a provider meeting in order to finalize my research. I almost purchased a monthly membership last weekend due to a forthcoming engagement. I decided not to due to Morris1969's dominance of this discussion board. I will tempt fate (the provider in question has been active for over seven years) rather than enrich an organization that permits such continual nonsense by a user.

...when you first open the TER url go right to Minnesota Provider Ads and then log on. That way when you go to the Discussion Board you'll just see that 'users post ignored' message. (BTW shouldn't it be 'user's post ignored'?) But I digress.

"Costing The Erotic Review money?"  You may want to think of a different "threat" to get TER's attention.

Somehow, I doubt that TER would have any great concern about losing the potential revenue from freeloading "users" who access the TER service without paying, but are thinking about paying, occasioanlly, in the future.  I'm sure that TER has other freeloaders to take your place if they wish to maintain their level of "potential revenue" that they will likely never see.

I did hit the "ignore" button for all of Morris's posts.  BUT, the ignore effect, is only "invisible" when I am signed in, and does not ignore its comments when I choose to view all the posts in the thread at one time.  So, when I first log on, I still see that it has posted, until I log in with my user name. Oh Well, its better than nothing.  His posts are just too much nonsense for me.

Possibly, you could use your own "ignore" feature and just not read posts that are "too much nonsense" for you.  It works for me!

Three Cups:  You are probably right.  I do ignore lots of nonsense on here.  I just thought I would try the ignore button to see how it worked.  As you may have gathered, it doesn't work very well.  So, I think I will just go back to skipping what is obviously nonsense.

...a very significant reduction in the number of DIY 411 and discussion threads. Morris' posts are as germane to the forum topic as DIY posts, but highly more chuckleable.

                                                   Hail Morris!!!

Man that is sweet, push the ignore button  on one of his posts and all of his posts just disappear. Thanks for the post I was really getting tired of his diatribe now he is gone.

Now if no on mentions him by name in a post he will truely be gone. Just a little self constraint and poof no Morris

Didn't know it existed before now.

Ok for those who are as slow as I am with stuff like this, here's how I did it:  Find a post from any annoying contributor whose comments you never want to see again. Not just THOSE annoying comments but ALL that "contributor's" comments. Click on the title of the post, like mine that says "Whoa, is that a nice feature!!" (Don't click on their name or you'll be given an opportunity to PM them. YUCK!)

That will take you to a page that highlights that entire post.  At the bottom of the page is a button that says "Ignore User." Punch it, and "poof, you don't see ANY posts from that annoying person again.

I've now got two on my list and I'm probably on some of yours. I don't care.

Ok, so I speak in shorthand. Good job articulating it is a great feature. I had inadvertently used this when I was replying to a very sweet provider and I was not getting her posts. WTF!! You can also shut it off if you change your mind about the poster and have a soft spot and want to hear what the unspeakable has to say.

done! thanks gents, for taking the iniative on this. And yes, it's a great feature:)

I had to be in "Flat" mode rather than "Tree" to make it work, but it worked. That's better.

It's very amusing to hear you people chatter on about "ignoring" Morris.  You have done nothing  but obsess about Morris for weeks.  It really doesn't taking planning and conversation to ignore someone.  You just do it.

What you HAVE done is "out" yourself as a group of vindictive, small people who have convinced themselves, and each other, that things that are said, by anyone, on this forum may have some significance. They really don't.

Drivel on diatribe master.

or another.   So, I say leave the pussy cat alone.  If you all don't care so much about Morris, why does everyone make him the topic of conversation so much?    Meow!!

I agree. Nothing said on this board, including our current exchange, has any significance and there are no degrees of insignificance,.

...well, almost everyone. I learned that you can't put an alias on Ignore unless you know their true handle. Like ThreeCupsPlease. But, like most folks, I already knew his true handle so I put the Ignore on that, too. There were a couple of other aliases I was able to figure out from doing this and a couple that I couldn't.
Anyhoo......after doing this it was like Morris and I had the whole board to ourselves! Awesome! Like we had our own secret language! We were like BFFs running barefooted over sharp edged stones thru the desert. Like taking off our gym shorts and high hurdling over prickly cacti and lovingly applying aloe to each others' bleeding scrotums. Wow. Like the saying goes, "There's no romance like a Bromance!
Luv ya, Morris...you will be mist!

Don't want to distract from those heartwarming posts about syphilis and adultery. Erp".......I don't find one word of that humorous or adding anything to why I have been a paying member (3 different handles) for 7 years.
