What happened that you believe posting such information in a discussion thread would be a TER rules violation?

A TER policy question: is it against the rules in a discussion thread reply to repeat the same general location information found in the establishment's ad?

We can link to a provider's ad in a review. That ad contains location information. Why are the same details considered a violation in a discussion thread? Can we link an ad in a discussion reply?

Is it that you had a post moderated for something you described?  I don't think a "general" location would be grounds for a violation but I get posts pulled all the time so I guess I'm a bad judge of rules.  I would suggest avoiding even city names but it would depend on what you are posting in totality.  Maybe the red handles will chime in otherwise you would have to send a message to admin and wait.

At times I have replied to requests on the board with location information for places I recommend or knew. These replies have been removed citing a violation of TER rules. The information I provide is actually from their BP ads; public information. I suspect there are some members that are overzealous (and mistaken) about this rule. It would seem silly to remove replies with information that is contained in a link that may have been used for a review.

Because it does seem odd.  But be prepared for the possibility of a "that's the way it is" answer.

Don't be afraid to argue with them if you think your point is right. They pulled that's they way it is on me with a review I submitted because nothing took place. The reason nothing took place because wouldn't answer when I arrived. They then posted it.

...it just doesn't make good sense to specify a location on the board.  It brings one place above the horizon for anyone monitoring the conversation, and makes one place stand out among the many that advertise.

You made a recent specific recommendation.  I had been thinking about going there.  Your post made it impossible.

That's too bad since you probably would have liked whatever place it was. Since I'm not VIP I guess I can't help anyone with what I know. BTW, anyone with a VIP membership can view specific details of services, location (if it's in the link) and background info. Posting reviews are far more dangerous to your safety than posting a location that's in the public domain. Perhaps we should all stop posting reviews? This way we will all be safer. Don't think that the cost of VIP membership is beyond the budget of LE, if that's your fear. It's nothing compared to the expense of arranging a bust or sting.

Pardon?  You don't post reviews...remember?

Lock is right.  There is a time and place to post things and when you are talking about AMP's that typically means brick and mortar.  The vast majority of reviews deal with transitional locations (such as she was staying in a mid range hotel downtown or she was staying at a shooting gallery in the north metro).  If and when you shout from the rooftops "hey I got my wienie pleasured at _____" it doesn't help anyone.  Like Lock said...anyone monitoring the radar gets a bleep bleep bleep...

And if that is what prompted the initial post then I can understand TER not allowing that, even if the provider's ad did.

I've never been too specific, like an address or a building. That I would understand. Lockstock took issue with some vague indication of a place, yet has no problem with providing specific details on 73 separate events of illegal activity linked to a specific individual and their contact information. Vorlon you've done the same of 107 separate events. Together, you two have detailed for anyone to read 180 events with specific details of activities and contact information. How irresponsible can you two be...? Do you realize that you may have endangered 180 separate providers with your reckless actions? You both have ruined it for anyone else that wants to see these 180 providers. Because you have revealed these details there will be police posted outside the doors of these places and stings set up so it's going to be too dangerous for anyone else to ever see these providers.....

My hysteria and paranoia above is ridiculous and absurd. This is a review site to provide intel on provider's to other hobbyists. Information has to be disclosed inorder for this site to have any value. There is risk in this hobby and we all accept it. To think that someone with 73 successful adventures can be scared off or dissuaded by a vague recommendation is silly. I can understand an amateur with 4 reviews like me might still be skiddish, but a veteran of 73 successful trips being afraid of any place mentioned on the board is hard to believe. How on earth did they manage their paranoia on the other 73? They certainly could not have looked at anyone else's review since by the same logic these provides would have been even more dangerous since specific acts were indicated and therefore much higher probable cause for LE. Every review has then made it impossible for this person to venture out. Ridiculous
