Just ask them. Most will tell you if they will see you or not. Most of the providers websites will tell  you if they are "newbie friendly".

I know of one very highly reviewed provider on TER that will do a meet and greet for hobbyists with no references. I don't know what your financial situation is, but this provider is on the upper end of the scale. She is very good though, and well worth the investment.

But these questions might help-
What level of service do you want?
How much do you want to spend?
What kind of menu is your preference?
Are you willing to provide personal information- especially work related?
Maybe check into P411- many providers will use that as a starting point.
Most providers screen to make sure you are not LE and are not some kind of wacko.

I'm surprised that non of the providers have chimed in- on many boards when this question comes up, and it comes up a lot, they let the OP know they are beginner friendly.
