Run away!  RUN AWAY!!

Looks like a filter basket from a small coffee maker, edges are very square. Wire is large for a mic. Also it appears the wire is very stiff toss your ear bud on the bed and it would not hold much forum. But better to be safe if you are concerned.

I was undressing in a room once, sitting on a chair next to the window, and I inadvertently brushed aside the curtain with my knee. There was a walkie talkie on the floor, turned on.

The girl said she was traveling with a "girlfriend" and it was just a precaution.
