Obviously has no effect on us in the U.S. but wouldn't it be grand if we got a similar court ruling here. Not at all likely anytime soon but then again who would have thought 30 years ago that we would an increasingly large number of states permitting gay marriage and part of the federal DOMA law struck down.
Recently, I was reading up on Mexico prostitution laws and found they have an interesting take on it. Simply stated, (according to the sources I read) prostitution is illegal in Mexico. However, under the Mexican system of law, a woman has a constitutional right to do with her body as she sees fit. So, if she chooses to exchange sex for money, that's her constitutional prerogative. The key is that the woman has to initiate the offer to the male. A male soliciting sex from a sex worker would be illegal, apparently.
Canada has ignored their prostitution laws for quite some time now. People know they dont need to worry about LE for consenting adult situations and escort agencies are ok too as long as they pay taxes.
Technically Holland still has laws criminalizing prostitution but they have forbidden the law from investigating it. The better places for sex in Holland is outside of the redlight disctrict. Brothels have no worry as long as they pay taxes.
