It happens

Trafficking happens. It's not as common as some conspiracy theories would suggest, but it happens. It's less common in the US than in less-regulated countries, but it happens. I get the impression that many massage parlor girls have been sponsored to get here and are working off the cost--sort of an indentured servitude. Some might have made the choice for themselves while others may be forced to. I have no way of knowing who is or is not in that kind of situation. For my own peace of mind, I do my best to stick with local independent providers who I can be fairly certain are doing this of their own volition. I could be wrong about that, but I do my best.  Apparently, this makes me holier-than-though, too.

I never want to support anyone who is trafficked.
How do I know which women are?  Is it the agencies?

If you mean someone moving people into the area against their will for illegal purposes.  I do not know of any, maybe some of the Asia parlors.

Are their agents that facilitate working women to travel and advertise their trade?  Yes they exist, but is it really a crime when the traveling person is a willing participant.

Just a friendly reminder @SkipFontaine22 - if you want to be holier than thou, you should STOP participating in this hobby to begin with - this hobby in itself is ILLEGAL in the state of Minny-sorta, $$$ in exchange for XXX is ILLEGAL regardless of traffick or non-traffick.

I am not holier than thou buddy, and I don't mind breaking the law.. but if people get directly hurt, then I am not into it.

You have to observe the provider and use your best judgement IMHO FWIW.  I would think traffickers prefer not to operate with a high profile so an openly operating agency might well be less risky in that regard.  I would also think that the more engaged the provider is with the session, the more likely she is choosing to do this.  Another good sign is a well-established and reputable provider.  But frankly I'm speculating a lot as I've never actually had an encounter with a provider that I somehow discovered was being trafficked.

I also remember a provider from many years ago who was high profile with an excellent reputation.  Then suddenly a story came out in the news that she was not only being trafficked but was helping the guy trafficking her recruit other girls.

I think it is another reason why FOSTA/SESTA was a bad idea as it just drove everything more underground.  I also think it is another argument for making P4P legal because it makes it easier for those of us who only want to see other consenting adults to report something we think is really suspicious.

Everyone who gets caught claims they were "trafficked."
.
To be safest, stick to well known independents rather than thru agencies.

Go to the cops? If she's not trafficked (likely) then she and everyone associated w/ her gets busted. You included. If she is trafficked you are now at least on cops radar. You need only read: https://reason.com/2021/08/12/federal-cop-devised-bogus-sex-trafficking-ring-jailed-teen-supreme-court-immunity-heather-weyker-hamdi-mohamud/
to get an idea of how much you can trust cops. And keep in mind that there's no way she could have done that scale for that long without a lot of others knowing.

And keep in mind that fewer than 1% of massage parlour busts have led to any sort of human trafficking charges and IIRC about half of those were found to be unsubstantiated.

Go to SWOP or DA? Both great orgs that I've supported financially and done some free work for but I'd not go to them w/ my suspicions for fear that... cops have tenticles in them as well.

In London we had walk-ups that I frequented. Totally legal. If you suspected someone of being trafficked there were a couple of NGO's you could go to and if you weren't aware of the NGO's you could safely go to the cops. No fear of your being busted nor of her being busted. Same in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and every other country where it's not criminalized.

For the mainstream hobby world we are the overwhelming best source for info on people being trafficked. But we can't do that in the U.S.
