I can't help think like a business person ... you always want to have a range of product prices ... you don't get that many top dollar sales, and you don't make that much on your bargain basement deals.   But combine low, mid, and high tier sales and you probably make more money than just offering in one category.

One way to look at it is if you go into a store and see a product for $1000, next to it you see a 10 items for $400 and $500, and then you see 50 items for around $300. I have always wondered why this item would be 1000, when everything right next to it is 300. There have been deals, or sales recently (not bargain basement) but I have heard they worked quite well actually.
