Does anyone have experience photographing models in hotel rooms?

What do you use for lighting?

Any other suggestions  to help make a model shoot successful would be welcome.

Natural light is best, if the hotel has sheer window covers, this will allow privacy and you to do your work at the same time. If not, then I turn on every light in the room and take off all the lamp shades.  

My top tip is: just to know your camera and what settings to use. Also a lot of my work is done after the shoot with editing software etc adjusting the RGB and CMYK because of crappy lighting. But this is only because I can never bring in my own lighting.

But a small room is always a challenge. You have no control over where the sun will be in the window (if at all) so I always bring my lights. I just use semi sheer umbrellas instead of hauling soft boxes with me. I hope you plan on 2-3 hours work minimum, too. If she's experienced with modeling and knows what she wants, you might get that under 1.5 hours. I've had shoots where the first hour is just loosening up and getting comfortable. Remember to ask her to do her hair and make up, too. Nothing like spending 4 hours in Photoshop to try to correct the hair and make up.

Shoot in raw format (any good camera does). I use RAW + JPG. You get some really yellow lighting in those rooms sometimes and it takes all the correcting you can apply to get the color casts out. I had one gal that insisted (at first) to use pink lights... and dim ones at that. We finally ended up adding some more soft white lighting and things turned out pretty good.

Agree, use of natural light gives best images for this type of photography.  If you are shooting both nude and with clothes, start with the nude.  If you start with clothing first, you will end of waiting for the clothing lines, from G-strings, etc to go away before you shoot nude.  By starting nude, nothing to worry about.
