out our hobby into a legitimate business comparison...old school is becoming a better option.  I miss the days when I could call up a half dozen bookers and get a run down of who's working.  Now I sit here alone with a pocket full of Jacksons and wonder why nobody wants to pick my pocket.  So inefficient the market is these days.  Think about it.  I personally miss johning around cerca 1998.  So much less hassle and damn good luck.

Has made some things easier, more efficient, and so on...but I'm going to have to agree with Wong re hobbying. From my side of the equation, I miss those simpler days.

I had money burning a hole in my pocket and it took me 6 hours to find someone to spend it with.
Email no longer works reliably for same day appointments, and half the time that's what I'm looking for.  Phoning around is hit or miss...  There's a place in the market for something better.

Just like you gentlemen, we ladies have lives outside the hobby. Screening is getting much more popular as indy's learn the ropes but it does take time. Particularly on the weekends.

I realize you guys miss the convenience of having AMPs & agencies on every block (that's a metaphor) I I don't for a minute blame you. I frankly am elated though to see ladies taking their business & safety into their own hands rather than putting themselves at risk being managed.

Not sure who you're replying to but the previous post, Lockstock, has been writing reviews (70+) for more than 10 years. Wong has over 30 reviews and I guess I'm the "Newbie" as far as that goes.

Anyway, since you're a frequent poster here on the forum, you certainly are well aware that all of us know about prescreening, that you ladies have other lives, and all the other points you bring up.

"Prescreening" as you say, would not solve the issue that Lockstock had when he decided he'd like to 'bless' one of you with his "donation", his time, his manners, his manliness, and his manhood.

A 3 line ad still gets the job done because there's OG's out there who swear by that method just as much as they rely on seeing SW's in between that.

Vi, I don't think any of us have anything against being screened. We all understand it's for your (the ladies) safety and the vast majority of guys agree with it and support it.

It's just comments by LChayse like if 'we have considered prescreening' could have been phrased in a non-confrontational and non-condescending way.  

I recommend prescreening because that way you could very well book within short notice, At least that's how I am.
And I'm fairly certain it wasn't whatever you think it was.

I have nothing against prescreening and certainly there is nothing wrong with it. But if any of us decided on the spur of the moment to see someone, prescreening won't help much unless we knew who we wanted to see beforehand.  

In Lockstock's case Friday night, it didn't seem like prescreening really could solve his problem...i.e., it took him 6 hours...which is a whole different issue which LChayse seems to want to ignore and not address.

Just for the record, OTB is all for prescreening and has even done it lol.

The booking folks for several providers could provide a calendar of availability for omeone to check out online before calling. Some providers schedule times 1:15 apart through the day. With a special password to get access and track who's checking, a booking agent could allow many of us impulsive hobbiests a chance to fill in the gap.....in the schedule. It's a thought. Online booking into the calendar would be even cooler.

I'm overwhelmingly in favor of indies and against management (like the dick previously mentioned).  Prescreening was not a factor for me on Friday.  Poor customer relations was.  
 Here's data, so that we can all jump a little more accurately towards our conclusions.

Primary date, scheduled a week in advance (second date in two weeks)  who then asked my forgiveness 2 hours beforehand (6 p.m.) because the opportunity had arisen to do a shoot with her "photographer..."  

Option 2 was set up first by email then through TER PM 90 minutes in advance, and then the popular lady took an appointment of opportunity at 8 p.m. and went silent.  She left town the following morning without further contact.  (Damn travelers)

Option 3 was email through a well-known scheduler (who I'm pretty sure considers me "pre-screened") whose name begins with W, or M, or something with 3 legs, who got back to me once with an option then seemed to go off the air at 9 p.m.

Option 4 was by phone call  when a reviewed provider showed up on a page that is not front and we made the date within 10 minutes.  And I had one of the best of times.

That's a lot of leg work & my goodness, some lame excuses in the process. I am sorry! Glad to see however it all paid off for you!

Too bad you had to be screwed by 3 other ladies before #4 satisfied you. Glad it worked out in the end. #4 sounds like a winner. PM me if you'd care to share.

I think the idea would be to get pre-screened by one or more ladies you like to see and then if you are trying to see someone on short notice, you have some options available and the screening would have already been done.  May not always work and if you have your heart set on seeing someone you haven't pre-screened with then you are likely SOL.

It's how most of my weekends go when I am in the mood to hobby.  Poor customer relations at it's finest is what you described.  Regarding prescreening, at this point in the game for me I'm not jumping through hoops to see anyone.  The screening I am willing to do now a days consists of "hi it's wongbater" and if that's not enough for you to check out my history on TER and decide if you want the time of your life on my dime then it's time for me to move on.   But please providers screen the shit out of anyone that doesn't have the history that makes you comfy he's not a douche or a civil servant.

I'm sure Vorlon you share my outlook.  You wouldn't give the time of day to a full rectal screening gauntlet would you given your history?  If you can't chase down a date with your history or mine then WTF are either of us doing here other than blowing hot wind.  The point I tried to make in my post is the result of recent personal experience as well as recent posts that confirm our community is RIGHTFULLY bat shit scared of the boogie cop and slowly grinding to a halt.

So I hear plenty of providers are slooooow.  Perhaps there are some readjustments needed in a few things IMHO.  Here's one I can think of off the top of my head...

Professional screeners playing the half ass screening and scheduling game need to up their game or the providers need to make a business move.  Legit and easily verifiable clients aren't waiting around for you to figure out basic organizational skills or for you to determine which side houses your head and which side your arse.

It's incredibly risky to be on either side of the equation.  But at the same time its not that flippin hard to book appointments and mitigate risk.  I don't think either side of the equation is trusting in booking anyone other than those they have seen a thousand times in the past.  Yeah that's great but I have a little inkling (or should I say oinkling) that Boss Hog is starting to win the battles.  Boner killer!

Let me just say one last thing.  I watch the board.  I take opportunities to network when available.  I call out shit when I see it in hopes of saving others from falling for some in our community that are less than forthcoming in their true motives.  The few I trust I try to share with.  I try my best to help even when it looks like I am being a dick.  And lastly, sometimes I end up being a dick because I post when I am in the wrong (wong) mood.  In advance I apologize for tomorrow's posts.

Well for me it is quite good.  But I have been sticking to ladies I already know and have a good reputation, both in general and with me.  Having been around for a while and active on TER helps me also.

One observation I made some time ago is that for hobbyists it is getting harder to get established unless you are fine with calling providers whose screening consists of the phone call when you make the appointment and see whomever gets to her location first.  Now, I have no problem with providers who screen; I understand why they do it and they are of course free to run their business as they see fit.  But I have noticed an increase in the number of providers who insist on a getting a level of personal information that I am not comfortable with.  I really wonder why these providers are not willing to be satisfied with some combination of provider references and what comes from sites like P411.  I know some will say they believe it makes them safer.  I wonder if it really makes them safer or they just feel safer asking for that info; after all it used to be rare to ask for that kind of info and yet we still managed to make it work.  

Another problem is the fake or manipulated review issue.  This is not new of course but I do think there is less trust in the review system than there used to be; a belief that the number of fake reviews is growing and that the number of providers who use various techniques to try and manipulate their reviews so that the only ones that see the light of day are very complimentary.  When hobbyists have to not only read the reviews with a grain of salt but also examine the history of the reviewers and see if that looks suspicious as well, it's not good for anyone.  I have seen instances where I saw providers with a relatively small number of very good reviews but when you examined the reviewers, the same few reviewers were the only ones reviewing the same few providers.  These days, many of us regard it as at least somewhat suspicious when a provider has an unbroken string of exceptional reviews.  So when someone stumbles across something that looks very much like multiple fake handles created to make allegedly new providers look good, well that stinks to high heaven.

I can only imagine this of course also makes it harder on the escorts.  New ones may be regarded with more suspicion until they manage to get some reviews from hobbyists regarded as legitimate.  Established ones may fall under suspicion if they are "too good."  We are all paying a price for the actions of a number of bad actors who manipulate matters strictly for their own gain.

Couple this with LE paying more attention to the internet side of hobbying/escorting and we are left with a heightened sense of paranoia on both sides.  Some paranoia is good; after all there are some people out to get us.  But I'm definitely glad I got into this when I did; it was easier then.
