Has anything really changed for the worst???

We've always had to be careful when seeing new gents.  Every hobbyists was new at one time :)  Thankfully, most of us have a good base of gent's we see on a regular basis, thus keeping our exposure low.

I know the 'good old days' were good for some, but there was allot going on with TBD that effected many ladies (behind the scenes mostly).  This, to an extent is why TBD is in trouble.  He played "favors for favors" and the TBD Minneapolis board was never a safe haven for most of the Mpls ladies new to the scene (remember Jewel).  This is why for over a year I kept asking TER to open up a board for Mpls.

Most will remember the hissy fit TBD pulled over our first party.  That was because one of the ladies who couldn't get along told him we were going to include sexual activities at the party, NOT true of course.  But, TBD Mpls was run by female moderators who weren't interested in benefiting anyone but their own interests.  TBD confirmed this to me later when he saw everyone was headed to TER and said he'd made a mistake in doing so.  Since then, he's replaced moderators from what I hear, but who knows. I do know we have an impartial moderator here.  Thanks SRV for all the hard work.

Every time I've seen LE get involved, it's either been from a complaint and/or exposure in the wrong place.  Eros and City Pages seem to get the brunt of LE attention.  I know of quite a few ladies from Eros who were caught up in a sting.  I've heard CP gets stung, but only know a few who advertise there, one of those ladies got stung as well.  Did those busted run any type of check before entering the den of no return, I don't know?

Rumors of female LE posing as escorts in CP have circulated for over a year and a half.  I have yet to hear confirmation of this being true.  Hopefully it's just a rumor as it has always been and that we can avoid spreading rumors until we have some sort of verification.

For about 6 months now, I've noticed an increase in calls from gent's who have found me off the internet that are new to the hobby.  They're pretty lucky to have avoided what most guys had to go through to find a nice provider.  Maybe more will stay hobbying rather than quit in disgust from CP experiences.  I've met some very special men with a little more ground work.  It never hurts to work a little harder when in the end you meet really sweet people.

So... Thank you TER for taking it upon yourself to not only benefit yourself, but providers and hobbyists.  It's our job to keep ourselves safe, not anyone else's.  This is why I don't associate or work for agencies.

With any luck, some of these CP guys will bring new gem's to TER via reviews or at least help hobbyists avoid rip-offs and scam artists.

I'm guessing LE is aware of TER as they were aware of TBD, but I don't see similarities as to what TBD is facing and how TER operates.  Also, TER is in CA not MN.  I doubt LE would concentrate on TER here to try and drum up some type of conspiracy charges out in CA where TER resides.  Most of the charges TBD is facing are from local LE in FL.

Here's a post I found regarding what I feel are the types of organizations who are truly the ones to fear LE:

Russian prostitution ring busted, L.A. officials say
Vice investigators say the operation was one of the biggest in the city's history.

LOS ANGELES - Authorities trying to cope with the new face of prostitution announced Friday that they have busted one of the largest sex-for-money rings in Los Angeles history.  The ring, which earned an estimated $5 million to $8 million over 22 months, employed more than 50 women smuggled from Russia to perform sex acts for paying customers in the greater Los Angeles area, said Detective Keith Haight, lead investigator of the two-year probe, called "Operation White Lace."

"Russian prostitution is changing the face of prostitution in Los Angeles right now," said Haight, an investigator with the Los Angeles Police Department's organized- crime and vice division. "These women are coming from the Eastern European bloc countries, and it's been increasing incredibly in the last five years."  The case remains under investigation, Haight said, adding that authorities believe the ring may also have operated in San Francisco, San Jose and New York City.

The investigation began in November 2000 after Haight noticed a two-page color advertisement for an escort service in a yellow pages directory serving the area near Los Angeles International Airport.  "It cost over $7,000 a month to run those ads," he said. "The larger the ad, the bigger the organization has to be to pay the overhead."  Undercover vice investigators served search warrants in October 2001 on phones and bank accounts and at 18 locations in the cities of Los Angeles, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

District Attorney Steve Cooley's newly formed organized-crime division presented the case to a Los Angeles County grand jury, which returned indictments against six people Oct. 24 of this year.  The charges made public Friday were against Rimma Fetissova, 42, and her daughter Elena Fetissova, 22, who both arrived in Los Angeles from Ukraine in the late 1990s. The indictments also included charges against Lev Levas, 55, and his son Mark Levas, 38, both naturalized U.S. citizens from Latvia; Iryna Vladimirovna Kovalenko, 37, from Ukraine; and Elena Piyanzina, 24, from Magnitagorsk, Russia.  Elena Fetissova remains at large. The other five were arraigned Friday and pleaded not guilty. They remained jailed with bails ranging from $100,00 to $500,000.

The defendants could get up to three years in prison for each count of conspiracy, pimping and pandering. A money-laundering charge carries a maximum sentence of up to four years in state prison.

The ring incorporated in the state as "Russian Fortuna Tours Inc.," a travel agency, in February 1999, Haight said. Advertisements were then placed in foreign-language and local newspapers and in the phone directory for businesses such as "Exclusive Girls Escort," "European Blonds" and "European Delight Escorts."  Last year the ring allegedly processed more than $300,000 in credit-card purchases from prostitution customers, Haight said. It is estimated that credit-card payments represented only about 5 percent to 10 percent of the business, he added.

yup... seemed that TBD became increasingly more biased, and then started leveling ridiculous complaints, among other things, that smurf was a pimp! LOL, i wish. hehe.  they must have got greedy. greediness can kill a good thing everytime time.

TER may bring in the losers, but at least it is a well-organized, well-moderated forum that doesn't play favorites from what I can tell.

and hopefully it will work to stem the tide of those Russian thugs who seem to dominate--but never totally control--every market (Prague and Ukraine come to mind).

You are of course correct about living in the past but history & experience can help guide us into the future. I feel more comfortable looking toward the future when I know what is behind me. Just my 2 cents.
