so tonight i'm calling a client at 2:15am pretending to be a friend needing a ride from downtown to rogers just so he could get away from his wife to see me now that is very clever!!!

Set the alarm on your phone and use the same ring tone as for calls, then just pretend to be talking to someone.  I used to do that while pretending it was a call from the security company for building I owned in town and it "had been broken into".  Everyone has different circumstances and can create their own alibi.
