This is my view of why this has become a slow board.

You had people bitching about these things so TER made it happen and now it is so slow that nothing but bickering remains.  Because it is all that is left to talk about!

Newbie board - each city has long time members that should help keep its own safe.
ISO - Really?  Now I have to go to a different board to ask about someone in my own city/state?
Sports and Rec - Keep it here and skip it if it does not interest you.
Humor - Um yeah it keeps a board light!  My God it is so bad they separated humor and stories!
Politics and religion...you want diversity and conversation - there you go!

My opinion would be to have anything related to the hobby on the same board.  ISO, Newbie stuff, and even erotic humor and stories should be here.  

If all the local things were kept local and fucking humor and stories were allowed this board would move!

TER's Balkanization of potential topics on the board has made the board less interesting and less likely to elicit enjoyable discussions.  I think they made a major mistake by separating the ad and discussion boards.
