So today I was contacted by a gent interested in spending some time with me. Seemed very interested and serious about meeting. So I take the time to write out a thoughtful email to him and when I hit the send button it says he's blocked me.
I'm just really confused by this. Why would some one go through the effort of blocking some one after showing an interest, and having had no previous contact, and before receiving a reply?
Was the gent communicating through TER private message, and the notice came from TER that you are blocked? In that case, the gent might be unfairly impatient.
If the gent was communicating through 'normal' e-mail, however, it's more likely that he was sending you a note from a location (say work) that has blocked the domain of the e-mail provider you use, especially if you use Hushmail or some other anonymous e-mail service that would be seen as a danger by the gent's employers.
Most likely, this is just a confusing technology thing and nothing personal.
OK, that makes more sense. I suppose it's possible that his VIP expired in the six hours between when he messaged you and when you got back to him -- I have no idea what message you get if you try to PM a non-VIP -- but I doubt it.
I'll admit that I've gotten impatient sometimes when the 'little head' is demanding attention, but I'd like to think I can hold out until lunchtime at least!
