The news today of many provider ad websites (CityVibe, TER US Ad forums, etc) closing was inevitable.  Unfortunately. A few bad ones (traffickers) ruined it for everyone else.  Now providers will advertise on the unregulated “dark web” which is unsafe for both providers and hobbyists.

It seems to me that Backpage and other traditional online ads are slowly dying with the new generations getting into the hobby.  Evidentially it is normal in California to find providers on Instagram.  I am an older guy and will not be joining social media to find hookers.

There's a law being considered in Congress that if passed and holds up in court might drive most escort advertising off the internet for any platforms based in the U.S.

You do know you can create a social media account under a fake identity, right? How else would the hookers have Twitter accounts and such?

the issue is that twitter then becomes responsible for the content posted so they'd be getting rid of it ASAP - plenty of high end providers have vanished completely that solely advertise on twitter

The traditional boards are closing shop so personal social media apps may be the new medium for advertising.
