I want to have a vote on theme day.

I do not want to be in the middle of this discussion.  

Some people take advantage and continue to post nothing more than posters for their website.

I do not allow their post and I get a complaint.

I will go with the majority.  

I vote we eliminate theme days or we set certain guidelines.



 

I enjoy them and I think the ladies think they are fun.

I love theme days but maybe less in a week would be more of a balance? I hope others can say what a good balance would be for them...

Yea, I happen to like pictures of naked and barely dressed women.  I'm funny like that.

Why anyone cares is beyond me.

Can we have theme hours?

We have had this discussion before, and I thought nearly everyone agreed that some moderation was needed.  As I recall, the general feeling was that once or twice a week was sufficient.  

And, I believe that it is a little unfair to ask for a vote, since many people here are afraid that if they say anything which could be construed as "anti-provider" they will be singled out as trouble makers.

When I complained about all the theme days, a few months ago, I received several PMs agreeing that they were too much, but none of those men would come out in public against it.  

And, finally, if you do a search for all the discussions, you will find that more than one provider calls the theme days "marketing".  I say if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it is a duck.  These theme days are really nothing more than marketing. They are very few "special" photos, that the providers don't already have displayed on their web sites, so what is the point.  

But, frankly, I am not sure if this isn't a problem that will self correct. There are only a handfull of providers who feel the need to  participate, and even fewer men who comment.

So, while I vote NO for the theme days, I am more than willing to let them die a natural death from sheer boredom.

My suggestion is that those few people start some sort of group, like yahoo group, where they can go every day to post and ogle.  That way they can enjoy each other at will.

Yay, but with moderation ...maybe 1-2 a week so the REAL ads don't get pushed out of sight too quickly.

I like the theme days, but only 2 or 3 a week.

I don't mind them at all and they could be every day as far as I am concerned.  If you want to limit them I suggest 3 days per week - M, W, and F.  Another limit might be that a provider can't use the same picture more than, say, once a month.

Sophie has the right idea,I would go one step further.No provider should be allowed to start a theme day thread more than once a week.Because like it or not it still is self promoting.

I'm a VIP member even if I don't post much, because I like the benefits TER offers.  The biggest benefit by a large margin is access to advertising from the ladies.  I am utterly baffled by the continual whining from guys who apparently think this board should be strictly limited to a circle of men criticizing the women who make this place fun.  Anyone who says anything nice about a woman is immediately branded a "white knight."  

I've been monitoring a number of other boards because I'm planning a cross country driving trip with some fun-stops along the way, and every board that is not dead and dormant has theme days or something similar.  And every board has someone who whines occasionally that theme days are bad and evil and everyone should go to church.  And I haven't seen any attention paid to the whiners on any other board.  You want this board to go dead and dormant?  Abolish theme days and the other fun posts from women and you'll lose me in a big hurry.  (Which, admittedly, won't cut down the total postage since I don't post.  Oh well.)

That said, the limitation suggested by Sophie seems quite reasonable. The simple fact is that any woman who knows what she is doing will have a "See my TER reviews" link next to her name in every post.  That is "advertising" that TER actively facilitates, and it gets me to just about everything I could get from an ad, except specials.  It's just less fun that way.  

Personally, I think the moderator ought to delete every whining post, even if it makes a technically correct observation.  Make the changes as needed, send the whiner a PM advising you have done so, if he's even a VIP member to receive it, then delete his post.  They clog up the board, and do no one any good except for the guy whose ego is tied up in making sure everyone else dances to his tune and no one elses.  

And if the whining post is proven to be categorically wrong, as happened at least once lately, ding the whiner.  Mr. ikcuts, do you really need that much help to enforce the simple rules this board operates under?  I doubt it.  

I respectfully submit to all the other lurkers who enjoy the fun offered up by lady posters that this is one time to dust off the keyboard and be heard.  

I expect I'm moderated so it'll be interesting to see if and when this post appears.

I vote YA, I dont see what all the fuss is about.  If you dont like the pictures don't look at them, I monitor the Florida board just to see there theme days, I just wish more Minnesota providers participated.

I see nothing wrong with them. If I don't want to read a post I just pass on to the next one. I know it sounds strange, but I make my own choices, I'm funny that way.

Fathom this.....a provider puts up an ad.  When the theme days hit, the provider's ad gets driven down on the list of readable posts.

Really.....ask yourselves....how far down the list do you go before you stop reading, and perhaps miss the ad the providers hope that you see.  Or do you read the first (maybe two) page(s).  Perhaps you're not even planning to hobby that day or anytime soon, but enjoy the photos.  Yes?

The theme days gets a rah-rah from hobbyists to keep seeing the pics, and with each post, the ad of the provider keeps dropping into oblivion.

I'm not trying to start anything, but if you want to see real life pics....there are other forums for that.

...you are one of the most beautiful, articulate and kind people in this 'community' and I love you for that. I just want to clarify something in case I misunderstood your post.
Each page on this board can have 25 'threads'. Within those 25 threads there can be practically an infinite number of posts. I have yet to see a thread reach a maximum number of posts before the thread dies a natural death. The page will keep getting longer and longer as long as people are adding posts to that thread. So, a long thread (like a theme day thread) doesn't push a providers' ad off of page one any more than any other thread. I wish we could eliminate many of the mindless threads like 'Hey, I'm coming to town...which providers do you recommend?' or 'Any providers available in the SW this afternoon?' or 'Has anyone seen Rachael? (Tawny Stone). Myself, I'm a compulsive board reader so you're ads NEVER escape my attention!

I know I am waffling a bit but, because I said "Yea" earlier. I think we should have less theme days and therefore more people asking smart questions like,

"Are there any providers available two weeks following the next full moon?  I have bags full of cash and I boat load of referneces.  As a matter of fact, I will be bringing my Nobel Peace Prize, my family priest, and my mother to vouch for me."

or

"Can anyone tell me about XYZ provider that has been discussed ad nausium on this board on even days since the Czar died?  I am way to lazy to spend a moment of my time before I waste everyone else's reading the same old posts over and over again.

Wait!  On second thought, I think I like the pictures of naked ladies.

I stop reading when what I am reading starts sounding familair.  I like this board and if I miss a day or two or three or four, I read until I know that I have read it before. I know that there are others who do the same.

How about twice a week...no ads or links in the post. Wednesdays for sure since it's the official Hump Day. I don't care which other day it is.

I get a kick out of those who think they're too busy or important to be bothered with such trivial things! WTF??!! This board should be about having fun! The Florida board could be a good example. There is one board that services many large cities: Miami, Orlando, Ft. Myers, Jacksonville, Tallahasee, etc. and they have many theme days. The board moderator has to deal with the same issues as on this board (jealousy, not following the rules, posting inappropriate ads, etc.) but it seems to work for them.

For the naysayers;
Did you know that there is an 'overview' icon that lets one just look at the title of the original title of the thread and compress all the others? Try using this so you can skip over threads designated as 'Theme Day' posts.

Maybe the moderator could designate a 'Theme Day' host (provider) who could oversee the thread and recommend edits to the moderator?

I like belonging to a 'forum' where we have fun. Let's keep this place lively and exciting. Other boards enjoy theme days and fun interaction with the ladies. Minnesota deserves the best. Why have a board solely of ads, ISOs and 411 on this girl? Shouldn't we have interaction?
The board (NO MATTER WHAT) has 25 threads on them. Even if there are 2 replies or 60 on a thread, there still 25 threads per page. So, using the excuse of ads being pushed down by the theme day needs stop unless you harass those lazy ISO and 411 posts. (Wow...Look how long this thread has gotten!)

I'm guessing Ikcuts is being harassed behind the scenes because of a few ladies having fun while a larger portion of an audience is enjoying it. Hmmm, sure sounds like there are a few party poopers!
 
Maybe I'm just a pervert, but I would like it if more girls joined. I love admiring images of fine looking women.
I understand the varied rationales for ladies not participating in the picture themes.
I understand the opinion of everyday is too much. But, can we do something to keep the board lively on the days where there are no pictures? Something similar that other ladies will participate in? For example, Joke day or polls like: Best place to place a kiss? OR Fun questions like, What are you book are reading right now? Or what do you do to relax?... I am sure we can come up with something to keep things interesting.

My suggestions:
*Girls should have their pics watermarked to protect their images; this can be done with out the website.

*The themes should be more ambiguous to encourage all types of pics. Yet having fun themes like T & A Tuesday and Foot Fetish Friday is nice once in a while. Most men enjoy seeing a women depicting a Steamy Sunday or a Tops of Thursday; the ones that don't like pics of hot women are the ones I am worried about.  

*Theme days should be posted between 12am-8am so provider ads can be up near the top of the page for most of the day.
and/or
*Theme days should be Friday-Sunday, when there are the least provider ads posted.

I like the theme days and dont really care if they are advertising in disguise. I dont understand why everyone gets so bent out of shape about the girls reminding us what they look like. It's not like this is a gay chat board, we pay money to spend time with the same ladies that you dont want to see provocative, sexy pictures of. How does that make sense? Lets not moderate anything except personal info and see how the board works, I bet it will be just fine, like it has been under our last mod.

How's this for a compromise?

Allow the theme day pics, with the stipulation that the pics be new, and not just recycled from previous ads and websites.
