When engaging with service industry professionals in the downtown Minneapolis area, many could not answer simple questions regarding local information stating: "I don't know, I just moved here". Is this more foreshadowing for a takeover considering an upcoming election and a real estate developer bonanza? Perhaps related to the bloating of the value of things?
Lots of ‘1031’ money (i.s., reinvesting real estate proceeds to avoid capital gains) floating around town, and coming in from outside the market. Given how insular we Minnesotans tend to be and coming up on hibernation season, I’d be surprised if it kept up. (Also, hello Aileen!)
Mpls has always been the business hub of the Midwest, and will continue to be that hub. Its not the end of Mpls, in a few years itll be better than ever, although like every big city will have its share of shady areas, stay out of them you'll be fine.Anyone who writes this city off is a fool, property values are still going up, and its still desirable to live ther.
