About time for a musical interlude: Music is an important part of the experience. If both parties are grooving it can make the session memorable. It can also ruin the date.

It’s great when a lady digs my playlist (usually jazz, R&B for me) or when I enjoy hers. Hate it when I’m forced to listen to stuff that annoys me (just had date that insisted we listen to rap and awful Britney Spears rants).

Once a classy lady mentioned her closet love for Led Zeppelin...I put Kashmir on repeat and magic happened. She’ll always come to mind when I hear that tune. Like Phoebe Cates with “Moving in Stereo”.

Another time I was having a wonderful evening out and romantic setting at the hotel but in the middle of a heated playtime, Michael Buble comes on and she stops in her tracks and demands a music change. After I was so worried another Buble song would appear ...the only thing I wanted to do is finish quickly and press pause. Deleted Buble from my playlist.

What’s your groove to set the mood or musical story (good or bad)?

... if I notice it.  Otherwise if I don't notice it, it obviously does nothing for me.

When I listen to music ... I listen to music and shut out the rest of the world.

There is only voice that I can think of and he is the maestro or big papa…Barry White… so give me a dark room with some Barry playing

If we were talking about a solid wood, it would be Phoebe Cates…her mouth

... the music is on, a candle or two are lit and the lights are low when my lady enters my suite. Female jazz singers and R&B make a nice relaxing sensual sonic backdrop and my playlist is otherwise quite eclectic. Raunchy Rock, soothing R&B, cool and sultry female jazz vocalists to sensual mood music of artists like Thievery Corporation, all songs on my playlist have a sexual connotation of some sort. I have a travel speaker system that I attach to my laptop and stream the music via my subscription music provider. It's unusual when a lady doesn't compliment me on my selection of music.

I like to take songs that providers have chosen to play on their websites or in their videos to add to my playlist and they like that if their song comes on during their visit. My most recent new lady friend turned me on to Sabrina Claudio who's sultry voiced music tends be quite sensual. Male vocalists like Michael Buble, John Mayer (Your Body is a Wonderland), Harry Connick, Jr., and Ed Sheeran make women moisten their panties and help create an experience we both enjoy. I'll be adding Kashmir to my playlist.

It bothers me when there is no music. Sometimes the WiFi craps out on you during an encounter and I nearly become disoriented. Music is the mental lubricant to lovemaking!  :)   Good post man

For awhile I was playing mostly smooth jazz or light classical, including many songs which might be considered "elevator music" because I really only thought of it as background noise.  (ok, ok I admit I really do like Kenny G and Dave Koz lol)

Then, a little over a year ago, there was a glitch for a couple days when those playlists would not play.
So I played one of my personal playlists instead and EVERYONE mentioned they liked it!
Since that only happened occasionally with what I'd been using I made the switch.
Now I get to listen to more of my top favorite songs, and most people I meet dig it too.

What is it?   A little bit of everything from 60s to more recent music.  Some classic rock, a little folk music, R&B, even a country tune or two plus others which don't easily fit into any category.

Because I know how thin the walls are at many hotels (and I only host in hotels) I am very reluctant to turn off the music when someone asks.  ;-)

I think three great songs for any playlist would be:

Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know?
Duran Duran - Come Undone
Prince - Purple Rain

There were a few sessions, long ago, that involved heavily electronic music or hip-hop that greatly lessened the enjoyment for me. Or simply having the music too loud. Ugh.

I love folk music! I have never listened to it during sessions but love to vibe to it in the RW with good company. I love classic rock but my playlist tends to be so vague..Sometimes I play extra hippie music that most Hard Rockers don’t like then Soft classic Rock guys don’t shall I say love super raunchy music and sometimes guys don’t like to be reminded of their age with songs they grew up listening to. Giggles..Very few that actually request Rihanna and Katy Perry.

I also absolutely love soothing R&B and Jazz but it definitely has to fit the person and mood. Sometimes baby music randomly pops up which definitely can be awkward hehe More suggestions please guys and gals! I’m taking notes!
