Re: I receive a lot of compliments on my playlist.
For awhile I was playing mostly smooth jazz or light classical, including many songs which might be considered "elevator music" because I really only thought of it as background noise. (ok, ok I admit I really do like Kenny G and Dave Koz lol)
Then, a little over a year ago, there was a glitch for a couple days when those playlists would not play.
So I played one of my personal playlists instead and EVERYONE mentioned they liked it!
Since that only happened occasionally with what I'd been using I made the switch.
Now I get to listen to more of my top favorite songs, and most people I meet dig it too.
What is it? A little bit of everything from 60s to more recent music. Some classic rock, a little folk music, R&B, even a country tune or two plus others which don't easily fit into any category.
Because I know how thin the walls are at many hotels (and I only host in hotels) I am very reluctant to turn off the music when someone asks.

I love folk music! I have never listened to it during sessions but love to vibe to it in the RW with good company. I love classic rock but my playlist tends to be so vague..Sometimes I play extra hippie music that most Hard Rockers don’t like then Soft classic Rock guys don’t shall I say love super raunchy music and sometimes guys don’t like to be reminded of their age with songs they grew up listening to. Giggles..Very few that actually request Rihanna and Katy Perry.
I also absolutely love soothing R&B and Jazz but it definitely has to fit the person and mood. Sometimes baby music randomly pops up which definitely can be awkward hehe More suggestions please guys and gals! I’m taking notes!
