I am planning a visit to TJ on the 27th Sunday. Flying into San Diego. I am interested in finding out information on walking across the border with a suitcase. How does that work? Thaught of renting a car and parking in the regular lot and walking across, but with luggage have not heard was the process is. Will be staying at Hotel Pueblo Amigo. Okay place?
Oh, and maybe a couple referrals would be cool too. Thanks in advance.
I'm not speaking from experience, as all of my trips there have been "day trips" without luggage, but I think it should be no problem. No one checks you, or anything that you are carrying, when you ENTER in to Mexico, at least no one seemed to care when I did. The only small problem that you'll have is coming back across the border.
The suitcase will be x-rayed, sniffed for explosives, etc. and if they really want to mess with you, they'll open it up and see what you've got inside. Just be smart, don't bring any weapons, drugs, or illegal aliens across and you should have no problem coming back into the USA.
Pueblo Amigo is safe and comfortable though it's a ways from the action. However, a short taxi ride will get you to the zone. I usually stay at the PA and find it pretty much worth the money and somewhat inconvenient location. I walk across with an overnight bag and catch a cab to the PA. It's walking distance from the border but..... As has been recommended before, use taxi libres (vs yellow) when you can -- much cheaper and if you stay at the PA for even a couple nights, you will probably be in and out of taxis quite often. Re recommendations, check the TJ reviews on TER. Otherwise, Adelitas, Chicago and some of the other clubs will provide you with many and varied options. I like the massage parlor scene but that has changed so much and is not consistent enough anymore for me to offer suggestions. One of the other boards probably has current info.
Geez, I wish I could report back as requested, but this is worth reading. I could not hook-up with Racquel for the threesome as planned. I had already had a meeting with Tania (La Famosa) planned for Sunday. She picks me up at the border as planned. We went to my Hotel Pueblo Amigo and checked in. This was 10:00 AM. We wound up spending the entire day together. She turned me everyway but loose, upside down and inside out for the entire day. Mid-way we hop back in her car for Rosarita and partake in big lobster dinner. Then back to the hotel and she did not leave until 8:30 PM. It was non-stop action with this girl. I am not going to do anymore I tried to tell myself, besides that, how could I. But since I am a tourist I got to got to the Zona Norte and find out what all the hoopala is about. This is 7:00 PM. Met another Monger there from San Jose and we wound up cruising all the bars one at a time. Finally wound up back at the A-Bar for the third and final time. Around 11:00 PM in walks this Chica starts taking off her coat and walked straight toward me. I'm like she can't be looking at me. Yet, she walks right up and speaks English. She wants a drink of course (that's what its all about, amount about going upstairs etc. too) She want to go upstairs, I wanted to go home to the hotel after what I had been through. As it turns out, she is ready and willing to go back with me, price was right and off we go. TAXI!!!!
Spent over two hours and it was almost 2:00 AM. After some discussions, I told her of the day before with Tania and low and behold she tells me she is Tania's best friend. All I could say is "pequeno mundo" (small world). Tania confirmed this the next day, because Tania and I had another 3-hour encounter at her pad after checking out of the hotel before she took me back to the border. A three days like this I could have never dreampt up in 100 years.
So if I ever go back I will try and meet Raquel somehow for that threesome. Although Tania already has me in mind with a threesome with her and Candalaria (Candy). I need rest now.
Cost are relative. I was on a vacation so to speak and am not local, from another state even. So I looked at it that way. The whole day with Tania $500. Three hours with Noemi $200. Bring home from A-Bar Angela for 3 hours $200. Last day with my favorite Tania 4 hours $200. Do the math. Worth every penny too. You would spend three times that in Vegas for 3 providers.
